Harbin Hotel Reviews
Hotel location is reasonable. Distance to shopping location is only about +/- 10 minutes from hotel by taxi.
Harbin is a wonderful mix of Russian and Chinese cultures. There are some wonderful buildings along cobble-stoned Zhiongyang Avenue. Not to be missed are the ice carving and snow carving displays if you are there in winter, and the Russian markets if you like great bargains (and Soviet memorabilia!).

If you can handle the sight of Siberian tigers devouring live roosters, then the Siberian Tiger Park is great viewing (!).
Harbin is a great place to visit, also in winter when the ice sculpture is not opened yet. The processs of building near the hotel in the park, on the "main street" and in the park on the other side of the river is just an experience as well.

Getting around on foot or by taxi is fine, but if you choose non-tourist spots, make sure your taxi driver knows where to go. The ice rink was too difficult, even with Chinese address and pictures of the place. Don''t pay them more than you should, if they can''t find their way it''s there problem (they will accept).

Restaurant wise, be sure to bring a list of Chinese food so you know what to order and I must admit KFC has great and cheap coffee!
