Top Nha Trang Hotels

I would recommend renting a motorbike (ask for a scooter, they are automatic and easy to drive). The thought might seem somewhat daunting to the visitor, but it really is a great way to see the town. It is also exhilarating. The town really comes alive in the afternoon and evening with everybody "cruising" the main strip. It is fun to be a part of it.

Nha Trang is now an up and coming beach resort. It used to be a haven for the Vietnamese, back packers and divers but now it seems to be forging ahead to try to attract a more upmarket tourist. More and more 4 and 5 star hotels are being built. The bars and restaurants are becoming more sophisticated, catering for the "western" taste and the new ones now have air conditioning (In 2004 there were no air conditioned bars or restaurants). Food, drink and taxis are cheap. The Sailing Club is a nice place to go for a meal or a drink. It is situated on the beach and you can over look the sea as you dine. I could not fault any of the restaurants or bars i visited in Nha Trang and always found the staff very friendly.

Nha Trang is a lovely place. Spend the day on the beach then head into town in the evening. All the restaurants and bars are on the road one back from the beach road. We enjoyed the BBQ restaurant Canh Lac most - it''s at the North end of town by the river. A full meal for two came to something like $10.

Well worth a visit is the hot springs spa, where you can have a mud bath, mineral springs, swimming pool and massage for only a few dollars - is a really relaxing day out. Best way to get there is on a motor bike ride (you can hail them down on the street) for about £1 return, is a bit scary to begin with, but good fun!

Boat tours to neighboring islands are definitely recommended (in particularly boat #4). For USD7-8 you can join the simplest boat tour, which covers four islands. The tours are entertaining, enjoyable and furthermore food is provided. The Sailing Club is perhaps one of the most happening places during the night. It is situated next to the beach and is generally filled with foreigners partying early into the morning. For seafood, Truc Linh on is not a bad place to feast on the latest catches.

Nha Trang is a lively resort town with many travellers hotels and bars. A good place to stop for a bit a beach time. The hot springs, boat trips in the bay and lazing on the beach are all recommended. It is worth noting that the new airport is 35 minutes drive from town and will cost around $10US for a taxi.

Would recommend a visit to the cham towers in Nha Trang. Other than that, there isn''t much else to see in the town - except for the brilliant beach of course! Some good beach front restaurants and bars - we particularly liked the Nha Trang Sailing Club Restaurant.

Nha Trang is the sort of "off the radar" resort that appeals to me. It''s a real city full of real people that just happens to be on a beautiful stretch of the South China Sea.<br> <br> You almost can''t miss with any of the restaurants as the food is impeccably fresh and beautifully prepared. Try Nha Trang Seafoods, 46 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street; they are a seafood processer and exporter with their own restaurant, and Con Ga Phap, a chicken place with a French twist.

I would highly recommend the island tour offered at the hotel for about 8 USD. We were given (by the hotel) a lovely straw hat and a couple bottles of water. The staff on the boat was very attentive and friendly and the food that they served for lunch was excellent, especially given that we were on a boat, away from any kitchen facilities.<br> <br> We got around primarily by cab, which was very inexpensive. A couple of times we used one of the motorcycles that consistently asked us if we needed rides, very cheap, but hang onto your hat! We had laundry done, about 3 kilos, which was washed, dried and ironed (and returned within 24 hours) for 12,000 dong/kilo. The laundry facility name is escaping me at this moment but I can look it up if anyone is interested.<br> <br> We visited Chong Rocks, but only had limited time. It would be a nice way to spend a relaxing day, lounging around on chaise chairs having cocktails and snacks. We hired a local tour guide, she''s very good and I can provide her contact details if anyone would like to know. She was born and raised in Nha Trang so knows all the good places to visit, and her brother owns a cab so transportation is quick and easy. We were given a day-long tour of Nha Trang and driven around, quite inexpensively. We saw the Palace, Dam Market, the temple along the bay, Chong Rocks and had a fantastic Vietnamese lunch at a local restaurant. Plus had some terrific discussions about Vietnamese culture. Her english is excellent.

I am lucky enough to visit Nha Trang several times a year on business. The city is a sensual delight - sun and sand, warm ocean breezes, unbelievably fresh seafood, the smells and sounds of the sea in the air at all times. I like Nha Trang Seafoods (46 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai St.) and Con Ga Phap (33 Le Loi St.) for roast chicken and the best french fries in Vietnam. Nha Trang is paradise.
