The Sawtell area is nice and small and not too touristy ... yet. There are plenty of things to do and it is out of the way, but close to Coff''s Harbour. We saw a yellow diamond sign indicating Koalas and thought "yeah, right", but three trees later there was one just hanging out sleeping. That was a kick. The hotel is close to the butterfly house and that is also worth visiting.
