Star Hotel Chiang Mai

I have rated this hotel as average in all categories. It is in a fairly good location, near the night markets and not too far from the sunday night markets. The room was quite large although the bathroom quite cramped. The carpet was very old, stained and dirty. The reception staff were polite generally but at other times quite dismissive. There is an internal massage facility but when I told reception I had arranged an external Thai massage in my room, I was told there was a 100 baht "penalty". When I first asked to use the free internet near reception I was told OK but not given the password. I think I would be reluctant to stay there again.

Hotel location is good, if you are lucky to have the last rooms near the emergency exit of each floors, then you will have a nice windows with view, and the rest you have walls of two buildings, no views at all, you see concrete wall, its a less than 200 meters away to the night market. it has free wi fi on each room and safety box inside the room, which are great, but the carpet inside the room was never vaccumed, you see previous occupants hair and dirt, really bad, and the shower water gets in to the whole bathroom floors.the free toothbrush and shaver are used and dirty, they were repacked, soI recommend never use them.Breakfast is very basic and the people in the kitchen never smile or talk to anybody.
