Zhongshan is a relative safe city in Guangdong. The roads are very well built. I went to Dr. Sun Yat Sen ''s memorial park and a place named Zhongshan Shing. The memorial park is quite an interesting place as it reveals the good old living style of people of Guangdong in the 19th Century.

I lived in this town for a few years. I''ve been gone for several. Everyone had told me that Chinese people were pretty distant. I found myself going back and being surrounded by dear friends. Not just former colleagues and students, but shop keepers, bartenders, bus drivers, and security guards went out of their way to tell me they remembered me and welcome me back. No place in China can I recommend more. Check out the Friend''s Club, meet some locals and expats, and aks them for ideas on where to go. Leave time, as you''ll never want to leave.

Take an evening walk to the QiJiang River Bridge for the view and a stroll on Sun Wen Road. There is a tour counter in the lobby where you can also purchase a ferry ticket to return to Hong Kong.

Daily breakfast in the hotel revolving restaurant provides a breathtaking view of the city. Japanese and Chinese restaurants serve excellent cuisine.
