The staff went out of their way to be of assistance. Highly recommend.

I booked the family room and was quite pleased with the lay out. it is spacious enough for a family with 1 child. definitely a good price for location. will consider the hotel/location again in future.

I was there on a business trip in May 2011. The room had basic cooking facilities, a smoke alarm, and a a warning of a fine should the alarm is set off. I then realised one of the batteries in the remote control removed, and there wasn't hot water in the tap. I've turned the tab to the far end and filled more than half the tub. No hot water. Tried again on the other far end for half a fresh tub, still no hot water. When I enquired at the reception, I was told I can "still press the buttons to control the aircond" to which I replied "are you suggesting that I climb up to the high-mounted aircond?". As to the hot water for bath, I was asked to "turn it on for 5 minutes" (seriously) until the water turns hot. I filled 2 half cold water tanks earlier! Are we even trying to save water in Australia?! When I checked out the next day, I saw my neighbouring room undergoing renovations.

Great motel, great location. The bed was super comfy, the staff helpful and friendly. I would highly reccommend this hotel.

Fantastic location, 2 minute walk from Central Station and the main CBD of the city and great price. Rooms were spacious and clean. Only thing was that the corridors were not air conditioned and they smelt musty like wet carpet and vomit, quite unpleasant. There was works going on when we stayed but this did not hamper our stay at all.

Had an enjoyable stay. The room was clean and nice. Bathroom was large and clean. Overall was a good hotel to stay in and wasn't too expensive. Location is near to Queen St where a lot of the shopping is located in.

Hotel was fine but didn't appreciate the early morning call from the garbage truck at 6am on Sunday and Monday! Also lots of building work going on at the moment although this didn't really affect us as we were only there to sleep

You get what you pay. The hotel is a little bit old, with minimal facilities and room services. Bathrooms certainly require refurbishment.

Great room service, there wasnt a car parking space which was a little inconvenient especially on check in. There are overnight street parking spaces on Berry Street until 8am

Sadly my room was not ready on arrival at 2pm, however after a short wait I was upgraded and the room was immaculate, spacious and with pleasant aspect. Well done!

We have stayed at Astor Metropole Hotel Brisbane on two separate occasions now and have been very satisfied both times. The staff are helpful and friendly, the dining room is fine as are all other facilities and we like the centrality of the hotel. We would recommend it.

Staff were efficient & helpful. Currently having foyer & ground floor renovations, which didn't look too good, but will be great. At least they weren't noisy. The position opposite the park, near city the centre & train station was terrific.

Enjoyed staying here well priced and a great location would recommend this to my friends

I was recently in Brisbane for 5 days and was pleasantly surprised considering that the reviews were not the best. But I went ahead and booked because I needed to be close to the city and Astor Metropole pricing was suitable for the length of stay. So considering that they are in the middle of re-refurbishments the hotel personnel were friendly, the room was clean and well presented and so central to everything like buses, train, shops, restaurants in particular to medical facilities.

My nephew and I found this hotel to be clean and comfortable, services and facilities are average to good. We paid for a 3 star hotel, and that is exactly what this hotel is. Location, very good, 5 mins to central rail station and CBD. Probably the only dissapointment would be the restaurant, we only had a room service pizza and breakfasts but these were very average. In all, I would stay again, because of location, cleanliness and it is comfortable and quiet.

Despite some inconvenience due to renovations, our experience at this hotel was positive. The newly renovated room was clean and comfortable, though the new tiles on the floor were slippery and probably need attention. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location near Central Station in Brisbane is ideal for anyone wanting to explore the city centre. The closeness of the railway station makes other places easy to get to.
