The Axel is certainly well located, 2 minutes walk from Wittenburgplatz U-Bahn station and 3 minutes from KaDeWe. However our "superior" room was a victim of style over substance. There was hardly anywhere to hang clothes, and only 5 hangers in any case. The curtains couldn't be closed completely so let an irritating shaft of light into the room. The promised iPod docking station was never available and WiFi access costs €8 per day. On the positive side, the bed was large and comfortable and the pillows and linen were good quality. The sophisticated shower worked well. The top floor spa didn't seem well maintained: the jacuzzi was permanently tepid, the sauna and steam room intermittently so and there was dust under the tables and mould around the jacuzzi. On the plus side, the staff were pleasant. Breakfast, included in our rate, was good, nicely presented and served till noon at the weekend - useful if you enjoy Berlin nightlife!

3 d time in an axel hotel but first time in berlin, we think the quality standard in berlin is too low for that price, rooms are nice but not nice cleaned( spots everywere from bad cleaning ) have the feeling that workers that did the last finishing touch failed here we prefeur axel barcelona
