This is a strange place, being about 9km out of town, and totally isolated. That said, it is a beautiful setting, with carefully maintained gardens (mainly rose gardens) all around. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The hotel restaurant is one of the best places to eat in town, which isn't saying much--there is little competition. It specialises in steaks, which it does well. I was more impressed with their vegetable side dishes, which are all home grown, and the fresh rhubarb available at breakfast. They also have a top class wine list, with reasonable prices (such Yering Station Pinot Noir under $40, or magnums of aged Grange for $1500 if you prefer).

We were very happy with the standard of the accommodation and the friendly, quality service of the reception and restaurant staff. We were made to feel totally at home and nothing was too much trouble. The restaurant food was of a very high standard. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone.

Everything was up to the standards, a bit pricey though. A microwave in the room wouldn't hurt however.

An excellent getaway spot, in the country, lovely grounds and farmland views--great staff Resturant good, priced in the high side a bit--but a neat retreat spot overall--I gotta go hide there again!!!
