The Berjaya was very conveniently located in a heritage building, staff very friendly and helpful, very good breakfast. Room was a good size but bathroom needed a bit more attention. Would definitely stay there again.

A very quaint, homely place to stay in the BEST location and with an MRT station a short 5 min walk away. The staff were efficient and friendly and their local knowledge was invaluable. The breakfast menu was amazing and once the choice was made, provided promptly. Check in and out was with minimum fuss, no request was ever ignored. I will be staying here again when I go back to visit Singapore.

The hotel BERJAYA in Singapore is on very good location, in China Town. It has very pleasant and good staff. It was my third staying in this hotel. There are all necessary facilities in the, so called, Studio Room, which is actually Standard Room. But the Radio didn't work, the carpet was quite dirty and some furniture used. The bathroom was good, provided with everything necessary. I paid and had confirmed Buffet Breakfast on my Voucher, but they are not serving Buffet breakfast, just "American" one. No fresh fruit, no yogurth, no good selection of cheese. I asked for the lemon with my tea and the answer was: "We don't have it." But I'll certainly come back. The staff was so kind. I had my flight back home at 11.35 pm; I had to check out and leave my room at 12.00 noon, but I put my luggage in the luggage room and my money and documents in the reception safe. They gave me the room for taking the shower on the evening, so I could go to the airport refreshed and clean.

We loved this hotel. We had plenty of room and tables and chairs. Lovely bathroom with huge shower. Away from the hustle and bustle of the beautiful and busy city of Singapore. Only a few dollars for a taxi to the city and China Town on the doorstep with all the wonderful bargains and foods. Guys on reception welcomed us by name everytime we walked in the cool airconditioned reception area. They booked our tours and taxis gladly, and fixed any problems we had. Thanks for 5 great days Berjaya Singapore. Highly recommend this historic hotel!

Convenient location in Chinatown near MRT and Maxwell Food Court; however, room a little tired and run-down. Surrounding area a bit seedy with nightclubs, and room was noisy from outside music until 1 AM

We had a standard room and it was the most expensive of our 8 weeks away..$150 aud approx. The room was tiny and clostrophobic. Couldn't open the windows because they were on top of airconditioners. The airconditioner was so noisy and another motor kept cutting in and out all night and even vibrated our eardrums it was so bad. Put up with it the first night then the 2nd night we had to shift at 2AM..we were put in another shoe box just as bad. Eventually we were put in a decent room that was quiet and got a few hours sleep. So disappointed. The staff were excellent and the foyer and breakfast good. We do not recommend the use of the standard rooms!!

The room under the roof is NOT silent on friday, saturday and sunday evening. The air-con position is such that cooling while in bed is uncomfortable and very noisy. Easy access to Tanjong Pagar MRT.

An enjoyable stay for travellers, located in an interesting area with lots of restaurants around, short walk to train station and reasonably cheap by taxi to all tourist destinations, shopping centres, etc. The hotel is showing its age and needs some room restorations. Breakfast is good - but the restaurant closed for lunch and dinner effective May 1 2010. Wifi internet is expensive $75 weekly rate) given it does not work in some rooms - I had to check email and work from a desk in the lobby!
