Our family stayed at this hotel and upon arrival were upgraded to oceanview room :) Superb quiet location but close enough to travel to tourist areas. Very family orientated, enjoyed the facilities, buffet brekky and the service was second to none! Very happy with our stay and would definitely come back :))

Dusit Thani is one of those hotels that back in the 90s, was the ants pants. In that regard, it has retained its charm. The grounds are lovely, the staff is generally pretty good. We had a great deal at Hotel Club with a club room. If you have a choice, go club. You think its not a big deal until you have it - having breakfast at the Trattoria (which is not far from the beach and you can see the baby elephant in the grounds in front of you and you don't have to look for seats in the morning cos most of the other guests have breakfast elsewhere), being able to have the drinks in the fridge (even though we didn't consume that much), having afternoon tea (after swimming), having pre-dinner drinks (where you can watch the spectacular sunset), having your room open up to the grounds and the beach about 10m away. And if you're like me and can never remember if room service is 8 or 7 and what number is concierge, the "just call this number for club room" is great.

The Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket was a joyful way to finish off our three week holiday in Thailand. Five-star accommodation and facilities, good beach and excellent pool. The lagoon provides further entertainment as you can kayak around yourself or use the (free) ferry service to travel between the other resorts and facilities surrounding the lagoon. We only stayed one day and night but the three (teenage) kids loved it as did the wife and I. The only downside is the excessive pricing at the cafe and restaurants. Although the food was excellent, it was very pricey, even when compared to Asutralian prices, let alone "normal" Thai prices. That said, Carolyn and I (sans enfants) will start our Thai holiday there next year with three nights before going south to Karon Beach.
