Our non-smoking room still smelt strongly of smoke. It was worse at different times so there is obviously some air transfer from the smoking rooms. This made being in the room rather uncomfortable. The free wi-fi in the rooms was very welcome

The hotel stated that it refurbished the bedrooms, but this appeared to be a superficial refurbishmnet but for the price the room was quiet and clean. One of the main reasons for chosing the hotel was its proximity to the Hapbahnhof and this proved to be ideal for this purpose, being easily walked in a few minutes from the station even in inclement weather. The hotel is in what is refered to as the red light district be we never felt uneasy either at day or evening when returning from an evening meal. The breakfast was good with plenty of variety and some menu items were changed on a daily basis and the staff were helpful and friendly
