Great place to stay, walking distance to almost everything. Very helpful staff and the rooms looked like they had been renovated within the past few years, nice and modern. All in all, a great stay. We would highly recommend it to anyone.

Nice Hotel,Nice view and Ideally located ..Bit of a trial getting into the car park ,which by the way they charge you for..

Very comfortable and luxurious, great spot if you need to be in central Hobart.

We found the hotel to be very clean & reasonably priced with friendly staff and in a great location. The staff at the Tasman resturaunt , especially Teagan Magee, were very professional and the food amazing. The Chancellor was very accomodating, cant wait to vist again some day.

Room clean, spacious and daily servicing very good. TV options limited and no DVD player in room. Desk staff very pleasant and helpful. Parking at a price and no lift from car park to reception so may need to ask for porter to help with luggage. Excellent location close to harbour, restaurants and shops. Room at back of hotel, noisy in the early morning because of heavy traffic on road behind the hotel. Would certainly stay at this hotel again.

Good hotel getting a little faded. Service was responsive, when we were not satisfied with the room cleaning, room was quickly vacuumed. Main restaurant was exellent. Extra charges for parking and internet were a little irritating, but seem to be standard for Australia. Location was good - 10 minute walk to many good restaurants.

Great location. Friendly staff. However, despite booking a twin double we were not provided with this bedding configuration & because hotel was fully booked had to use a "roll out"bed. Not impressed. Found air conditioning to be ineffective, room was hot. Buffet breakfast cooked menu items not very nice and disappointed that Tasman restaurant did not offer very much seafood, including no lobster on menu at all.

Overall the hotel was good. The only thing was our room was on the harbour side(free upgrade from mountain side) not realizing it was noisy at night with traffic.

Perfectly located on the marina and a lovely 5 min walk to the lively restaurant precinct at Salamanca place. Harbor view fantastic, particularly when the cruise ships are in port. Highly recommended.

Excellent stay, Location and harbour view great, close to great seafood restaurants and hotel restaurant very good. Only small complaints were shower in bath and king size bed consisting of two mattresses (though still comfortable)

This property is in a fantastic location and is gradually being refurbished however, the practice of doubling the room rate for particular weekends - which are not in peak season, is nothing more than profiteering and wrong. Also don't agree with house guests having to pay for on site parking whilst staying at the property.

Great spot with great views of the harbour. Excellent service and all was very easy. Close walk to markets and restaurants.

A very enjoyable stay, excellent position. The only criticism would be that our bed had two mattresses joined together on one base and the ridge in the centre of the bed was very annoying

The location of this hotel is excellent and offers some fantastic views over Hobart. My limited dealings with staff was very pleasant. I would stay at this hotel again.

set in the best location in Hobart with sweeping views of the harbour, quality service and highly recommended. However, there should be bed and breakfast packages available and usagwe of the internet costs $5 per hr which is too high.

We had a great stay in Hobart and in part this was due to the excellent service provided by the staff at the Grand Chancellor. Well Done!

Provision of a toilet brush would be a bonus. Otherwise, everything was fine and we had an excellent view over the wharf from our room. The rooms were dated but in light of our internet deal, everything was very acceptable. The staff were very pleasant.
