The reception staff - with the exception of one did not have a clue what was going on, their english was poor, their knowledge was poor, they were unable to assist with difficulties in locating a place. The restaurant - one day at breakfast, my father did not eat or drink anything and was charged £8.00 for this. I of course queried it and made a point of checking this never happened again. We arranged a city tour via the hotel, and the tour guide (if you can call him that) turned out to be a personal friend of the travel guide in the hotel who has just hired a four wheel drive and drove you to random places. PATHETIC! I dread to think what would have happened if an accident had occured. I tended to use the [other hotel] facilities next door, and the reception staff there were impeccable, always ready to lend a hand, full of knowledge and nothing was too much of a problem.
Improve the reception staff at the Ascot Hotel and you will have a much better chance of keeping clients.
