Great place to stay. Staff are friendly and helpfull. Rooms are great with to die for views. Heaps of cafe's in the city which is a two miniute walk away.

The Te Pania Hotel was very well located in Napier. We were however dissapointed with the bar area which was quite small and the furnishings were very shabby.
The housekeeping standard could be improved. On 1st day of stay after putting make up room sign on door at 8.30am We arrived back at room after 3pm to find room still not serviced.
The following day after being on beach we needed to shower before being collected for a trip we had organized, once again room not serviced and as we had put towels on floor as requested for changing we didn't even have dry towels to use.
When staff did come to clean room they didn't make bed properly and the bathroom wasn't cleaned either. This was after 4pm.
