This hotel locate 10 min from the Bund. and walking distance to a factory outlet shopping mall (SHE BU LU), specialized for clothing.nice and cheap breakfast. overall we are very satisfied, unless for the terrible heater in the room. we visit shanghai in February, which are winter in that time. we are extremely cold , because we are come from Indonesia, never experiencing the weather less than 20 Celsius.

The hotel was quite clean and close to good shopping for clothes and had great access to the subway which was only a five minute walk. However, it seems that the hotel supports the local working girls, as on several occasions I saw staff and pimps sharing a smoke in the front lobby. Also, be wary of touts outside the entrance harassing you to take you shopping at the clothes stores.

We stayed for a week and found it very clean and the staff helpful. It was close to buses, trains and taxis and a short walk to the Bund and markets.

Rooms were clean and cleaning staff helpful and nice. Beds are hard as are most in Shanghai. Breakfast was cheap-48 Yuen and mainly for the Chinese people-not much Western food. Taxis available at the front door and it's not far to Nanjing Road and People's Square. There is also a Metro stop (Tiantong Road) quite close and the Metro is easy to navigate and very cheap to use-signs in English as well as Chinese but you need to purchase a card. There is a Mini Mart (like a Seven 11 Store) close as well to purchase water as this is not supplied by the hotel. Drinks from the bar are a similar price to Sydney prices.

Old, worn out building, surprisingly neat rooms, not very friendly front-desk (except perhaps for trainees, who were there to short to learn the rude and bureaucratic attitude); but of course, this was merely a 3-star hotel - don't get fooled by the price you pay!

The room which we stayed was dirty especially in the bathroom. I booked for the superior room but the room was no way for superior.

Our room is a "Showroom" and the hotel will start renovating after the World Expo ends, as we were being told. It is therefore new and everything works though the room has only 1 foreign (German) channel among many Chinese channels. Location is VERY good if you know your way round shopping and eating - Metro is less than 10 mins' walk. Taxi will cost abt 185 RMB from Pudong (Terminal 2) and it takes abt 50mins. woth smooth traffic.

It's seen better days, but some parts and rooms are being refurbished. a bit of a "customer-is-never-right" attitude. Carefull when booking, a "double" does not mean double bed - it's two singles!
