Hanoi Hotel Reviews
Hanoi is not big enough to go around can go by taxi which is easily available and not expensive also from the hotel only 2-3 dollars US. after reaching city you can shop with heavy bargaining can enjoy well. One water puppet show is worth looking and plenty of museum and temples (pagodas), lakes etc. are there to go according to interest.
One block away from the hotel, there are Indochine restaurant and one Thai restaurant. Those are really great.

There are lots of tour companies with different destination. I took Halong bay tour for 1 night 2 days. The price of hotel recommended was $45, but I took another companies because it was cheaper. But the service, tour bus, food, hotel was terrible. If you have enough money and want comfortable service, do not choose cheap tour. I had to find better hotel by myself.
Ha Noi is a charming destination, with many interesting things to see and do. The people are friendly and there is a wide variety of restaurants to cater to every taste.
This hotel is in a very central location. Easy to take a cab anywhere. Watch out for the bikes.
Good weather and location, be careful at restaurants that do not have prices on the menu, they will double or triple charge you!!
Hanoi and Sapa and Ha Long were all very cold and rainy but very interesting.
Hanoi was the most interesting city visited in Vietnam. I was very pleased that it was also our first destination. The water puppets are worth seeing, the temple of literature and the Ho Chi Minh complex with Mausoleum, museum and house on stilts are a must. Although the one day trip to Halong Bay was tiring, this is also worthwhile.
We mainly explored Hanoi by foot. Shopping in the Old Quarter was great. I enjoyed watching the Water Puppets too. We took a 2 day, 1 night trip to Halong Bay which was fun (great scenery) although a bit too much travelling for just 1 nights stay. Take care of your money on Cat Ba island. Two members of our group were drinking in a cafe on the water front and had 1000 US stolen. They were possibly drugged because were unable to walk or remember anything after they shared a bottle of wine.
Hanoi is a bustling city rich with Vietnamese culture yet evolving rapidly. Traffic is a nightmare, don''t try it yourself - make sure you have a capable driver. The Emperor Restaurant is one of the finest around. Highly recommend a day tour to Halong Bay (3 hrs by car) and rent a boat, complete with on-board lunch and boarding by girls selling coral.
Only a handful of staff were polite and courteous at the restaurants. A rare number of staff having strong empathy in customer services.
We were in Hanoi 2 years ago as well, and liked it a lot so we come back and got married there. No tours this time, but Halong bay is always recomendeble.
I just tour around the Hanoi city by myself, but the Buffet was excellent.
Water puppets - fun, especially for children. We mostly walked around Hanoi, but sometimes used their new bus system. Air conditioned buses for 2500 dong! Getting up early and walking around the lake is highly recommended.
The hotel listing of shops by category is great. We visited several by cyclo, the drivers know the area/streets and took us from shop to shop.
Hanoi is a wonderful place, one of my favourite places. I love the fact that it is not a high-rise city. I love the old quarter, shops and restaurants.

I hired a bike and cycled around the city including out to the Museum of Ethnology, which is an excellent museum. The city of Hanoi is so attractive with its lakes and parks and interesting museums and markets.

I also think Hanoi has great style, which is something it should guard against losing. The people of Hanoi look terrific especially the women on their motorbikes sitting up so straight with their smart clothes and stylish hats. Hanoi has a special something I have not felt in any other city.
This was our 4th, and best, trip to Southeast Asia. The food was excellent everywhere, and a warmer and more friendly people cannot be found in any other part of the world.
Hanoi is a charming city, although a little too polluted. Also visited Sapa, where the Tavan valley has a very nice and beautiful trek - highly recommended. Road conditions in countryside were generally bad though.
Walking is best within Hanoi. It''s possible to cover a lot of the city that way. Our trip to Halong Bay was organised by the hotel and was fine. There are several choices of 1, 2 or 3 day trips. Do visit the Women''s museum, and the "Hanoi Hilton" shopping is best in Hang Gai street but more expensive. Prices are good. Embroidery and lacquer ware are the best buys. There is a pottery village just outside the city that is well worth a visit. Prices are extremely good. Lots of good restaurants - Seasons of Hanoi excellent.
