Johor Bahru Hotel Reviews
Located next to hawker center (open past midnight) where you can have supper after disco at floating palace. Music suitable for dancing. You be surprised by the huge crazy crowds :)

If u don''t mind, there are some very good seafood restaurants just outside the duty free zone. Food are very cheap and delicious, although the surrounding may be a little dirty.
Have to take taxis everywhere but cabs are easily available, except at the JB customs where taxi touts might overcharge.
Nice city JB. Sometimes (in the weekend) a little bit crowded. You can spend here a 2/3 days without getting bored. If you love shopping add a few days. It is great to make a daytrip to Singapore. If you have several options: do not go to Singapore in Friday or Saturday(one big traffic jam).
Went to Holiday PZ for snacks and a little shopping. To Tebrau Mkt for dinner, 5 mins by cab abt RM$4-$5. Food inexpensive as seafood dinner cld cost abt RM$37 for 2 persons, 4 dishes. Visited the newest shopping ctr, City Square too(5 mins away), realli cool and cheap bargains as the whole town is having a sale!
there are many small restaurants near to the hotel so need not pay those "extras" charges if u dine in the hotel.
There are a lot of cheap pirated VCDs,playstation games and computer software nearby at Holiday Plaza. If you take a cab to Taman market about 1km away, you can savour a lot of cheap and delicious seafood. This place is very popular with Singaporean especially on weekend.
JB is a developing town, some may find a big contrast from Singapore. There are a number of shopping complexes which have fantasic prices compared to Singapore. Train Station is very handy for travelling to KL.
I booked this hotel because it had a spa.I have one day off a week and had planned this trip days before.I even arrived on the same night I finished work..02.30am Sat. When I checked in I asked the receptionist what time the spa opened and if I could reserve a time for treatment. She said that there was no need to reserve just turn up after 2pm.Sunday 2pm I arrive to find that the spa treatments were reserved for LADIES ONLY. When I enquired about this to the receptionist on duty, stressing that the spa was the reason for my trip..she asked if she could help me and gave me the address to a watsons pharmacy so I could buy my facial creams(she had no idea what I was talking about and the concept of a man having a facial, pedicure and manicure was alien to her and the staff at the spa)My weekend was ruined.. Sunny the duty manager tried to Organise a facial treatment for me or a complimentary one night stay.I opted for the latter. It was too little too late. I checked out that same day and when I was checking out,the same receptionist of the night before charged me for 1 and a half days stay..I was too exhausted to fight. I left the hotel very tired having spent more than I had planned and vowing never to go there again.
JB is a nice place for shopping with so many choices of shopping centres around. However, need to careful as some taxi drivers may double the price of the travel fare. Also, the usage of toilet in the shopping centre need to be paid before entry at RM$0.20 even though there won't be any toilet paper and soap provided.
Johor Bahru is a great place for shopping and eating. There are however not that many places to go sightseeing. We tried out something adventurous by taking public transport to the well known Kota Tinggi water falls which was about a two hour bus journey from the hotel. It was not the most pleasant of experience, as we had to change buses at a terminal and not all whom we bumped into could speak English and we were stranded there for sometime. The waiting area for the buses had no indications and the bus stops had no bus numbers.

Coming from a country where the public transport was world class, we found it pretty tough getting around. Eventually we managed our way there but it had begun to rain. The journey back was just as bad as the same buses do not go back in the reverse direction. It was really confusing but it was a hell of an experience.

The food outlets and the shopping area around the hotel were great, I especially liked the Pasar Malam(night market) near the Mariamman temple. It definitely is not the most hygienic of places but it had a wide spread of food savouries. There were many seafood centres around and we went to the one near Pelangi. The food was great and extremely cheap. Lonely planet has a pretty accurate description of the place. A word of caution is that it is pretty diificult to get a cab on Saturday nights, unless you're willing to pay double or maybe even triple the usual amount.
Yes, I would recommend to my friends. The location is near a shopping mall, with food varities, shoppers heaven with products ranging from personal to home to car, and many more.
The destination is good. Especially the Floating Palace. The food is good.
Very convenience to go next to the Holiday Plaza. And it takes about ten mins to reach there from the JB Checkpoint.
Hotel- great location and walking distance. A 24 hr bookstand across the street. Convenient area for currency exchange and police station right behind the hotel.
Went around town on our own mostly but have enjoyed the transportations they provided to the different shopping locations.
The hotel is very near the brand new city square. One can sample alot of local food within walking distance from the hotel.
