Guest commentsThis is a wonderful historic hotel. We were staying on the executive floor which would be unsuitable for people who can not climb stairs as that is the only way we saw to get there. Our room was massive and we were entilted to free breakfast and coffee in the executive room, although the staff were not always happy to get the coffee for you. It is a near walk to the bund, and bell boys are always happy to get taxis for you for longer trips. We would happily stay at this hotel again and recommend the executive floor for people capable of stairs.

Guest commentsThis Hotel is an old style palace in a historical building. The service is perfect. I had a very spacious suite with a computer and free internet. The breakfast is very good with a lot of different style of food. The only bad point is that the bridge that leads to the bunds is in reparation so I had to take a cab to cross the river every day, otherwise it takes 2 min to go to the bund. But the hotel have a free shuttle to go there starting 8 in the morning. I recommend this hotel when the bridge will be repaired.

Guest commentsOld historic hotel, read about it on the web, well worth a visit, close to the Bund and Nanjing road ( shopping street ) Would definitely stay there again.

Guest commentsThe executive rooms are great. Well decorated, spacious and made the stay extremely pleasant. The breakfast area is wonderfully light and the food comes in a broad range of varieties. Ordering roomservice food only on the last day made us regret not have had dinner the previous days. Professional, caring and english speaking staff at reception and entrance.

Guest commentsHotel was excellent and the staff could not have been more friendly. The slight reservation I have is that although the breakfasts were excellent served in wonderful surroundings the other restaurants were usually empty for dinner so not pleasant to eat in. There is however plenty of good eating within walking distance. Highly recommended (pay for an executive room - its worth the extra)

Guest commentsWonderful hotel, staff extremely friendly and helpful, good English spoken. Room huge, beautifully warm with everything we could need. Short walk to the Bund. Hotel has kept its character but with modern facilities. Cannot recommend highly enough, it was a wonderful find.

Guest commentsIt was great to experience a hotel that reflected some of the glory and architecture of earlier times. The staff were very helpful and the breakfast had an excellent selection of good quality food. It is reasonably priced for Shanghai and very convenient if you want easy access to The Bund.
