Stayed at  Rosedale on the Park Hotel Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The giant Buddha near airport is a must see, rugby sevens were spectacular. Take a ferry. Much missed - little time to see things. Awareness of SARS high in area, no need to be shy about wearing a mask!

The best place for a drink with a great view is at the Intercontinental Hotel. Pay a visit to the Wong Tai Sin temple (at the subway station of the same name). For a good range of stores selling antique wares go to Hollywood Street in Central. The Pizzeria restaurant of the Kowloon Hotel has a great buffet lunch at a reasonable price (for Hong Kong!).

Stayed at  Empire Hotel Kowloon - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Business trip!!!!! Try Delaney's Irish pub, very expat but good Irish Stew! Lan kwai Fong is good for partying but too expensive and too expat driven, try some Chinese nite club in Kowloon, good music, cheaper and nice open-minded Hong-Kongese girls.

Hong Kong is a very frantic place, the number of people on the streets can become overwhelming at times. So I found solace from time to time in a cold beer at Mad Dogs Pub on Hong Kong and Murphys pub in Kowloon.

Not the shoppers paradise that some make it out to be - even with local knowledge and hard bargaining. Best to know in advance what you're looking for and the price in your home location. In general there are savings to be made but that has to be balanced against making sure its the genuine article and if the warranty is good in your country.

Stayed at  Empire Hotel Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The Peak, Seafood at Lamma Island, the Old China Hand pub, Star Ferry trip, Stanley Markets, Temple Street night market (go right to the very end where the opera singers, snake drinks and fortune tellers are).

The hotel is about 7 minutes away from the MTR stations. The major bus lines are within a block. Hong Kong is one of the most tourist-friendly places I have ever visited. The maps provided at the airport are quite extensive, and give an effective layout of the public transportation system. The MTR itself is pretty easy to grasp.

The Night Market in Jordan or the Ladies Market in Mongkok is an interesting shopping experience. Lan Kwai Fong is also an nice place to be on a Friday night.

Hong Kong is an expensive place to visit. The cheapest way to travel, apart from on foot, is by tram. In order to reach Kowloon from Hong Kong Island and vice versa the Star Ferry is the best value option.

Most things are expensive but a cheap night out can be had at the Happy Valley Race Course where entrance costs only a few dollars and the betting stakes start at ten HK Dollars. Check on arrival in Hong Kong when race meetings are being held.

Depends what you want but for nightlife entertainment is it a perfect location.

Hong Kong is very easy to navigate. All the hotels will provide you with an excellent map of TST in Kowloon and Central. Almost everything is within walking distance. The MTR is very easy and convenient to use. Taxi's are also plentiful. However, it is a good idea to have your concierge write down your intended address in Chinese and the name and address of your hotel, as there are quite a few taxi drivers who don't speak English.

A great night spot is Lan Kwai Fong on Hong Kong Island. There are a whole slew of bars are restaurants located within a couple of blocks. A couple of other great bars are Carnegie's and Banana Joe's in Wanchai. Check out Soho for ethnic restaurants, all of which are on the island. In TST check out Gaylord's for Indian, Fat Angelo's for homestyle Italian (there is another one in Soho) and Dan Ryan's for a good steak. It's a good idea to make reservations, because most restaurants are always packed.

To get the latest rugby scores, look for The Kangaroo Bar and Delany's is a good Irish Pub with live music, both are in TST. The Dublin Jack, located in Mid-levels, is also a great sports bar and popular with expats. They always have on a football (soccer) or rugby match.

For shopping Central near Admirality station is pretty good. Lan Kwai Fong is a very good area for night life into the early hours. Happy hours make it worth starting early!

Ladies market off Nathan Road and Stanley market are great for gifts. A good touristy thing to do is to take the Victoria Peak tram (not far from the Bishop Lei). Here you wil find terrific views of the city and shops and restaurants for your enjoyment. Soho area has a good choice of restaurants and using the escalators makes it a typically Hong Kong experience.
