Prospective travellers should visit the museums in Macau. In addition, if one is a wine or port lover, he should not miss the wine museum, A place which not only exhibit the history of portuguese wine making, it also sells fine portuguese wine and port.
Other than that, tourists should not miss the chance of tasting the portuguese cuisine as well.

-Mezzaluna in the mandarin and Fernandos at Hac Sa are as excellent as ever.
-The new tower is worth a trip up but take a spare pair of underpants.
-The foot massages in the little reflexology shops are good value and relaxing.
-People in Macau are generally more relaxed and friendly than hong kongers. A great place to drift around.
-The protestant cemetery is interesting.

I enjoyed the interesting mix of Chinese and Portuguese culture and architecture. July is perhaps not an ideal time to visit Macau due to the intense heat and high humidity.
Recommended restaurants:
Flamingo's: Excellent Portuguese Resturant at the Hyatt in Taipa
Hotel Lisboa: Dim sum restaurant and Cantonese restaurant on second floor.
Recommended Attraction: Taipa house museum.

The Portuguese population of Macau has supposedly decreased by 80% since its handover to China in 1999, which means the local Portuguese restaurant scene is somewhat diminished. One gem that remains is "A Petisquera" in Taipa (not far from the Dumbo restaurant). Truly superb cooking (octopus salad, baby sardines, fresh home made cheese, codfish cakes, clams) accompanied by an excellent and very reasonable wine selection. The two owners (Eusebio and Jose) are very gracious.
The sauna for women at the Lisboa was highly luxurious and pampering of my partner, unusual for Asia where it's generally the men's side that has all the whirlpools, steamrooms and lounge comforts.

The Hac Sa beach was not particularly appealing due to a black sludge on the sand. It was pleasant enough to walk on to go to Fernando's Restaurant but I made a point of keeping clear of the water and the sludge. Macau made for an interesting walking tour if you have got the energy to climb the hills to get to the best view points.

Worth going to the Macau tower, Go-karting and of course Fernando's. Also try the Allorcha restaurant, near the Maritime Museum.

Well, one has to see Macao once! We hoped for nice chinese furniture but didn't find what we were looking for (spent one afternoon running into every shop we saw!). What we really liked was the food: After two weeks in China we really appreciated the portuguese cuisine.

Macau is an ideal weekend break destination (easily accessible from hong kong)with lots of restaurants (Mecanese/Portuguese food a speciality) and good wine and port.
Highly recommended if you like visiting temples and museums and enjoy browsing around furniture shops.

The Westin Resort, Macau is bit far away from the main attraction, but they have a special facility of the minibus services in/out of the place. Eventhough, it is bit hassle at night and on peak hours to wait for the hotel minibus and cost quite a lot on taxi. But, it is no hassle at all,if you go for a bite @ Macau's favourite eating place - 'Fernando'.
