Getting around KL is basically via taxi since I am here only for the weekend. Never take taxis who are waiting around for they charge fixed price instead of meter based. Basically Puduraya bus terminal, Chinatown are places where these cabbies hang out, so you should walk out to the main street to hail a cab. Food is great for I ate ard Jln alor area, the street I guess in front of Hotel Nova, lots of variety, tasty, and cheap. Think these are better than going inside the restaurant located along the same street, which I ate once before and don't find them as great. Can also go to Chinatown where again you will find streetside hawkers where throngs of people eat there. Would not say so for the restaurants there, since they are relatively more expensive I guess. After which I proceeded to have a good foot massage located on 2nd floor of Swiss Inn hotel where a 40min foot masage cost only 30 RM. Additional RM10 for10 min of back massage if you like, and ear candling too if you prefer at the cost of RM40-50.
In case you should reach KL in the wee hours like I did, and your hotel check in is only after 2pm, do proceed to Ancasa hotel near pudu terminal and ask if they have vacancy for day rate, RM 50 only, or take a cab to season view at Bukit Bintang to check the same.

Like Italian food? L'Opera restaurant is about eight or nine minutes on foot from the hotel. Not very expensive but superb pizzas and a good wine list.

BB Plaza, Sungei Wang Plz, Lot 10, Times Square are all within walking distance. From KLCC to Bukit Bintang, metered cab fare around RM3 only. Manhattan Fish Rsnt in basement offers quite good value. Tandoori & naan available at coffeeshop down the road from hotel.

During my stay in Kuala Lumpur, I went to Sungei Wang, Chinatown, Sunway Lagoon etc for shopping which is not bad at all. For food, we went to the Noodle restaurant at Sungei Wang Plaza, W.A.W restaurant at Jalan Alor (best for Kam Heong Crabs), and the roadside stall along Chinatown selling Ramlee Burger (which is so good and juicy).

There is a great bunch of hawker restaurants which have all the Malay, Indian and Chinese classic dishes directly behind the Concorde Hotel. They are open on weekdays. Leave the hotel, turn left and then left again at the Deutsche Bank building.

The location was perfect, in the middle of Chinatown you couldn't ask for much better. Within walking distance of buses or for a longer walk up to the big shopping centers. My favorite place to eat is the Kim Lian Kee restaurant just up over the corner great food and the people are really nice as well. It's nice to sit outside and watch people haggle and learn from them. The restaurant isn't much to look at but the food makes up for that 100%. I took the "country tour" which I was told while on it was more of a "shopping" tour but it was still very informative and surprisingly good. Enjoy!

Chinatown: Had our dinner at the roadside stall along Jln Sultan, which is much cheaper compared to those seafood restaurants, whose staff is always asking us to patronise them whenever we walked pass.
Zouk: Sort of a more high-class pub & disco in town, the way the people dress more formal, the feeling is a bit different as compared to S'pore (also visited another disco that plays mostly chinese pops, but the tremble & high bass of the music makes us stay only for awhile).
One-Utama: A huge shopping complex at Damansara, about RM10 from KL by taxi.
Jln Bukit Bintang: One bak kuk teh restaurant along the main street (opposite the Federal Hotel) sells very nice dishes, definitely worth the money.
The Mall: A fairly older shopping complex compared to others in town, but its close proximity to our hotel makes us visit more than once.

A good location to visit shopping malls and street eateries. Many small rest's are located on Tengkat Tong Shin only a 5 min walk from hotel. Sao Nam (Vietnamese) was one of the best. A selection of fantastic dishes, resonable prices for both food and drink.
