Stayed at  Karon Beach Resort - Phuket, Thailand.
There are several nice restaurants nearby. The Indian restaurant towards Kata Beach, Dino's (which looks gimmicky but serves excellent food) and Buffalo Steak House are all good.

M Gietzelt 14 February 2005
Stayed at  Dusit Laguna Resort Hotel - Phuket, Thailand.
For food I recommend to go outside the hotel, better food and much lower priced. The beach restaurant LOTUS about 5 minutes walk on the beach, is highly recomendable. Also just outside the Laguna are good restaurants. Forget the restaurant in the Canal village, no good!

Stayed at  Royal Paradise Hotel - Phuket, Thailand.
October is not a very good month to visit Phuket. Raining most of the time. We couldn't get back to the hotel when the main road was flooded one evening. The water was about knee high after a heavy downpour. If you want authentic Thai food, eat at ChiangRai Seafood at Soi Tun Bangla Road (Patong Beach). Ask the local people and they would be able to show up the place.

J Nelson 11 October 2004
Stayed at  Central Karon Village - Phuket, Thailand.
We had dinner one night at Sala Bua Restaurant on Patong Beach. The food was superb. They have an award-winning chef with a long list of accomplishments. We would highly recommend the restaurant to any visitor seeking a high-class meal.

M Mohamad 14 August 2004
Stayed at  Bangtao Beach Chalet - Phuket, Thailand.
BangTao Beach Chalet restaurant offers authentic Thai food, one of the best places to eat in Phuket.

R Mah 17 July 2004
Stayed at  Sunset Beach Resort - Phuket, Thailand.
Patong offers a myriad of activity and interest to every walk of life. The food is good but bewarned in some places there are double standards on pricing to tourist. Try the local seafood behind Tiger Disco, it is superb and very reasonably priced. If you are game to watch Thai boxing, it is just a stone's throw away from these stalls.

P Chong 07 June 2004
Stayed at  Central Karon Village - Phuket, Thailand.
We had great seafood at Da Nang Seafood at Chalong Bay. It's rather far but the food is cheap and fresh.

T Chng 21 March 2004
Stayed at  Club Bamboo Resort - Phuket, Thailand.
Visited the Patong Beach by motor-bike taxis. Received a full body treatment at a luxurious health spa centre at very affordable prices. (Can't remember the name). The prices of food at restaurants were somewhat pricier than Bangkok and Pattaya. Nevertheless, it was tasty. Did a half day tour to James Bond Island which was good value for money.

B Williams 23 January 2004
Stayed at  Baan Yin Dee Boutique Resort - Phuket, Thailand.
Patong Beach is very very touristy. Can heartily recommend an Italian restaurant called Caruso, it's on the seafront towards the end nearest to Baan Yin Dee.

T Grebby 02 January 2004
Stayed at  Bangtao Beach Chalet - Phuket, Thailand.
If your idea of heaven is peace and quiet then this is the place for you. We stayed at the chalets for 10 nights and found the location absolutely idyllic. The chalets and grounds are maintained to an immaculate standard and staff are very friendly and helpful. The beach is a few minutes stroll away and is beautiful.

There are lots of restaurants along the beach front, most of them very small and quiet and serve good, value for money food (try Boom's for no-frills excellent food). We went on several trips during our stay which we booked through an agent in patong (much cheaper then booking them via the hotel) and there were no problems being picked up and dropped off by the tour operators.

I would definitely recommend the phi phi island snorkelling trip and the james bond island kayaking trip. Book trips through an agent - its half the price of booking through the hotel. The local taxi operators charge far too much and it is much better value to hire a jeep (the roads aren't bad at all for driving).

We did venture down to patong for a taste of the nightlife, and got some excellent bargains from the stalls, but couldnt wait to get back to the relaxing atmosphere of bangtao. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay and would definitely return.
