Antiques House and Dalaabaa Restaurants were well worth the visit both have great food and friendly service. An afternoon trip to the factory outlets is pointless, all items can be got from the Night Bazaar. A great little walk along the other side of the river (near Gallery Restaurant) has some quaint little shops in beautiful teak wood buildings.

The Amari Palm Reef has a wonderful new Italian restaurant called Prego which is stylish and has great food. The Coco Blues Cafe down the road has good food and excellent jazz/blues music. We also ate at the Tamarind Restaurant in the Impiana Resort and had a lovely dinner there.

There's a cart vendor set up around 50 metres from the hotel who sell papaya salad and various skewers. His papaya salad is the best in the whole area and at 25baht the biggest bargain!! Just remember one chilli is already really hot!!

We went to Chatuchak weekend market and it certainly lives up to its name as one of the largest outdoor market in the world. Suan Lum night bazaar was okay, but quite a number of stalls have vacated and the place was pretty quiet. The Joe Louis Theatre restaurant has pretty good ambience and food and is worth a visit.

I definitely suggest the "Bua Restaurant" inside the Riverfront Residence building. A must for Thai food lovers.

After you get off from the BTS, you will see the small restaurant named "Steak and Thai food". The price of food is reasonable. If you would like to see movies, EGV cinemas at Siam Discovery is a good idea. Try Gold Class!!!

We had dinner in PIC Kitchen which was introduced by some guide books, the interior decoration of the restaurant is fantastic but the quality of food is not up to scale.

Bangkok is great for a few days as long as you like to shop and eat. For shopping, Siam Square has the best shopping centres but don't miss Patpong for atmosphere, restaurants and night market. Also check out Narayana Phand (ChitLom BTS) for a great selection of handicrafts. We ate Western/Thai food alternatively. The Robin Hood (opposite the Emporium at Phrom Phong BTS station) has great food with friendly service. Also dined at the Bua Restaurant 1 Soi Convent, Silom Rd. a couple of times. Good Thai food at good prices. We stayed a few nights in the White House in Koh Samui. Pleasantly located hotel though didn't dine there. The beach restaurants (especially Bongoes) had very good food with 3 course meal for two, incl. drinks, for around THB600. The only tour we did was a half day "6 in 1" safari. This meant 20 mins river kayaking, same on elephant back, elephant show and monkey show, "jeep safari" and waterfall. Overall reasonable value for money (THB1200) compared to other tours and an easy way to spend the morning.
