Stayed at  Mercure Fortune Hotel Bangkok - Bangkok, Thailand.
If you are spicy lover, try Isan food, Northeast part of Thailand. At Soi Sukhumvit 36, you can see some of restaurants there.

M Bowles 16 March 2005
Stayed at  Royal Benja Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
Excellent location on Soi 5 and walking distance to Soi 4 and the Nana attractions/skytrain etc. Always walk to the end of the road for taxis, tuk-tuk and motorcycles. Those close to the hotel will fleece you and refuse to use a meter. Drop by Starbucks, round the corner on Soi 5. Very friendly service and adjoining bookshop well stocked with English reads. O'Briens just up from Starbucks does a good all day breakfast economically. Night time, Nana Plaza always first choice.

D Brodtmann 16 March 2005
Stayed at  Narai Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
Sphinx in Silom Soi 2 good food and friendly staff, didn't get pickpocketed at the airport this time!

E Schaad 14 March 2005
Stayed at  Windsor Suites Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
Enjoyed the Grand Palace (although men have to wear long pants and everyone must have their feet covered) and highly recommend Maha Naga Restaurant - great food and wonderful service but a bit pricey.

M Betz 12 March 2005
Stayed at  Majestic Suites - Bangkok, Thailand.
The destination, of course, was Bangkok. What's not to like? One of the most interesting cities in the world. Truly "a show with everything but Yul Brynner." Between the Skytrain and the new subway you can get almost anywhere you want to go, and so much faster than when you were limited to taxis and hours of sitting in traffic.

The Dusit Zoo is a great, low-key afternoon. It's cheap and you get to mingle with the average Thais as they take an afternoon off, usually with the kids, and stroll the zoo, interact with the animals, etc. Well worth the time. You can't go wrong if you go to Sukhumvit Soi 24 and visit the Lemon Grass restaurant. Some of the very best Thai food on the planet. There's now a Skytrain station at the mouth of the soi (It's the one past Asok going toward Thong Lo, but I forget the name). If you go to one nice place to eat during your trip, make it this one. The spicy curries are not to be missed. Take a wrap, as the only problem is that they keep the inside like a meat locker!

L Mclaughlin 23 February 2005
Stayed at  D'Ma Pavilion Hotel Bangkok - Bangkok, Thailand.
On New Petchburi road there is a new restaurant called the "Halong" which my wife thought was a Vietnamese but turned out to be an Indonesian restaurant with strong Muslim food preparation rules. In fact, it was great. The food was excellent and the decor is very nice. It's worth a try. A very happy accident for us.

J Baird 20 February 2005
Stayed at  Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok - Bangkok, Thailand.
Next2 restaurant provided a multitude of choices at the breakfast lunch and dinner buffets as well as quick room service.

P Bernheim 19 February 2005
Stayed at  Rachamankha - Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Recommended restaurants, on the river : Riverside, Good View, Brasserie. Recommended trips in the vicinity: Chiang Dao Cave (72km).

T Harmaala 17 February 2005
Stayed at  Windsor Suites Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
Bangkok is our favourite city! Use the Sky Train or MRT with taxis or motor cycle taxis to get aroud. The top places to visit are the Grand Palace, The Jim Thompson House and a river cruise on big ship or on a long tail boat is a must. The best place to eat gooood Thai food is Thong Krueng-restaurant on Sukhumvit Soi 55 (Soi Thonglor), on the corner of Soi 13. If you prefer Western food, please try L'Opera on Sukhumvit Soi 39. Have a good trip to Bangkok!!

M Gietzelt 14 February 2005
Stayed at  Dusit Laguna Resort Hotel - Phuket, Thailand.
For food I recommend to go outside the hotel, better food and much lower priced. The beach restaurant LOTUS about 5 minutes walk on the beach, is highly recomendable. Also just outside the Laguna are good restaurants. Forget the restaurant in the Canal village, no good!
