N Wood 07 November 2004
Stayed at  China Town Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
If you don't mind being in the Nana precinct (go go's and beer bars), there is a great steakhouse on Sukhumvit Soi 4 called 'Steak One'. They do a roaring trade to mostly farangs who I suspect (like me) from time to time, need a break from Thai food. Their lobster bisque is superb and I've never had a bad steak. Not a budget restaurant, expect to pay around 1000thb each, and more with wine which is expensive in this part of the world.

T Goh 01 November 2004
Stayed at  Best Western Ao Nang Bay Resort and Spa - Krabi, Thailand.
We visited some of the restuarants in the area, e.g E-San seafood restuarant and Chuan Chim seafood resturants. Both served excellent food at resonable price.

M Johnson 25 October 2004
Stayed at  Indra Regent Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.
S & P Restaurant at World Trade Center, 6th Floor above Isetan, cheap, great food, always serves fresh & great service too.

A Van der graaf 25 October 2004
Stayed at  Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok - Bangkok, Thailand.
The Salathip restaurant (Thai style) is really excellent! Ask for a table outside so you can enjoy al the boats coming by. Also the cooking class of Salathip is a real nice experience and worthwhile! Going to the market and cook the specialties and have a real nice lunch of what you have been cooking.

R Anwar 24 October 2004
Stayed at  Davis Bangkok, The - Bangkok, Thailand.
7th trip to Bangkok in 4 years. Managed to try different restaurants everytime. This time we went to Mes Amis, a french restaurant. I have to say that it is probably the best french restaurant I've been to in Bangkok. Unpretentious and comfortable is how I would describe the atmosphere. But then, restaurants are only as good as the food they serve. In this case, the food was excellent. The lobster salad and the foie gras are highly recommended.

R Flukiger 20 October 2004
Stayed at  President Solitaire - Bangkok, Thailand.
There is a particulary good italian restaurant close to the hotel (soi 11) El Limoncello. Very good pizzas and pasta. The prices are correct.

T Butler 12 October 2004
Stayed at  Peninsula Bangkok - Bangkok, Thailand.
My husband & I spent four nights in Bangkok, out first visit to the city. We stayed the first three nights at the Bangkok Marriott Resort & Spa & then transferred to The Peninsula for our last night as the Marriott was fully booked. I would highly recommend both hotels. The Marriott if you're travelling with younger children & The Peninsula for a romantic splurge. Both hotels shuttle services were great & we didn't find it an inconvinience being on the other side of the river. We used the Chao Phraya Express riverboats for sightseeing & the Skytrain when shopping & found both to be easy, efficient & reliable ways to get around. What Pho & The Grand Palace are both recommended, don't miss a massage at What Pho only 300THB for an hour. We bought a 3 day tourist pass for the Skytrain (280THB) which allowed unlimited journeys & we difinitely got our moneys worth. We can recommend Cabbages & Condoms & Baan Khanitha(Soi 23, Th Sukhumvit branch), we had fantastic dinners at both. If your're in or near the Central Chidlom Shopping Center at lunch time we had a great lunch at Food Loft. Be sure to drink plenty of water as with the heat dehydration can be a problem. We would definitely like to return to Bangkok one day.

B Bullen 11 October 2004
Stayed at  Landmark Bangkok, The - Bangkok, Thailand.
Go have a meal at Seafood Market! Best seafood in town and is quite an experience! Get off the Sukhumvit and see the rest of Bangkok!

C Lee 11 October 2004
Stayed at  Royal Paradise Hotel - Phuket, Thailand.
October is not a very good month to visit Phuket. Raining most of the time. We couldn't get back to the hotel when the main road was flooded one evening. The water was about knee high after a heavy downpour. If you want authentic Thai food, eat at ChiangRai Seafood at Soi Tun Bangla Road (Patong Beach). Ask the local people and they would be able to show up the place.

J Nelson 11 October 2004
Stayed at  Central Karon Village - Phuket, Thailand.
We had dinner one night at Sala Bua Restaurant on Patong Beach. The food was superb. They have an award-winning chef with a long list of accomplishments. We would highly recommend the restaurant to any visitor seeking a high-class meal.
