We visited Ayuttayah which was about an hours drive away - the King's Summer Palace is nearby and can be done on the same trip - well worth it. The Kings Palace is great to see in Bangkok and if you have time the floating market worth the trip. The night life in Bangkok serves all needs. If you have enough cash try a meal at Scirroco restaurant (open air at the top of State Tower at the end of Silom Road) or Vertigo on a similar theme on top of the Banyan Tree Hotel in the same area. Fanatastic for a romantic evening if not raining. Another favorite restaurant is Kappa in Sukhamvit soi 16 (Asoke). Use the taxis on a meter always and make sure it goes on when you get in unless travelling well outside Bangkok in which case agree the fare beforehand.

Stayed at Asia Airport Hotel - Bangkok, Thailand.

Excellent location for shopping, partying, and eating. It's also conveniently located near a skytrain terminal for sightseeing. I recommend eating at Cabagges and Condoms, a two block walk from the hotel. I welcome any questions from people planning on staying at the Ambassador.

Stayed at Muang Kulaypan Hotel - Samui, Thailand.

A five minute walk from the hotel will find you at the beginning of the main shopping scene. Great spas all over the island. A must is a Thai meal at Poppies.

Stayed at City Beach Resort - Hua Hin, Thailand.

If you are a golfer shop around for greenfees and never go straight to the golf club as this is the most expensive choise. Example Palm Resort charges Baht 1800 but I bought it for Baht 1400 at a travel agency in the Bookazine shop. If you want a break from Thai and sea food, visit Brasserie de Paris which is very good with excellent service at reasonable prices.

In Thailand you must visit The Bedsupperclub, they serve great fusion cuisine and you get to relax in … Beds. Go on Friday or Sat night if possible and party the rest of the night away at the club connected to the restaurant
Something on the quieter side would be Jim Thompson House & Museum. It's beautiful and reminds you of Thailand of the past. Very charming!

Chiang Mai a very friendly place with a lot of good restaurants and pubs. Recommend The Pub, on Huay Kaew road, just down the street from the shopping center.

For those who are health conscious, there is a Lemon Tree store not far from the Night Bazaar and a nice vegetarian restaurant on Tha Pae Road recommended for lunch.

There's a nice restaurant called Anna's Cafe quite nearby (a short taxi ride) and the Banyan Tree hotel bar Vertigo, on the roof, is fantastic and also not far away.
