We used limousine services.
Phan Thiet is worth one visit, not two.
Next door to the hotel we enjoyed the restaurant, Good Morning Vietnam.

Phan Thiet is still developing but close by is Mui Ne which is more touristy and where you will find more restaurants, hotels etc. Phan Thiet is still limited and dinners would usually be confined to the hotel unless you make a trip to Mui Ne about 10km away. We took an excursion to the Sand Dunes, Temple, Fairy Stream but as far as excursions go that was really it.
In addition the beach at Mui Ne seemed better than Phan Thiet. One restaurant in Mui Ne that I would recommend is "Good Morning Vietnam" (they have other branches in Saigon, Hanoi & Nha Trang).

After a long travel and an exciting bus trip from Ho Chi Minh City!, we found Mui Ne very relaxing! What a beach! - with exotic surroundings. The food was great, all over! The Bamboo Village restaurant has a wonderful location and serves good food, as well as the small family restaurants at the beach or by the main street.
Scooter trip is mandatory. The sand dunes were also a must. Exiting and embracing Vietnam!

Activities are plenty: golf, pool, gym, billards, tennis among others and also day trips into the country side. We took a trip to see the laying down buddha (49 meters long).
Borrowed some bicycles from the hotel and rode into town. Cycling through the streets is an experience in itself, not for the fearful. Several restaurants outside of the resort; easily bikeable.
