As two great lovers of food, the hotel did not disappoint. We ate three out of the four nights at ‘The Rhu’ fusion restaurant, which did a wide array of delicious and beautifully presented dishes.

The Sanpan boat ride up the nearby mangrove swamp to feed the Eagles is well worth a morning or afternoon.

The location (beach) of the hotel is superb. Langkawi is a beautiful island with some possibilities for trips (rice fields, villages, rainforest, waterfalls, island hopping). One can easily rent a car, but it is not easy to arrange a motorbike in the neighbourhood of the hotel. There are sufficient sporting activities and tours via the hotel. For restaurants, you fully depend on the hotel! The quality of the food was generally ok and I especially liked the atmosphere of the beach fronted restaurant (mediterranean style). Note that in September and October, the weather is more rainy on Langkawi, though there is no clear raining season.

Island hopping along with eagle feeding, fishing, cat fish massage at dayang bunting is excellent..bat cave was bad cuz there was no bats around..if u r going in the package available with the hotels then it is recommended to carry some food along..they dont supply good food..spend more time in the beach is fun..and u get execellent vegeterian food close to the hotel..(pakistani restaurant) under water world is not really exciting as we expected it to be..and laman padi museum is good to watch and is only good for ppl who are interested in garden and food crops.

Langkawi is a beautiful place to be. Hire a bike. It is the cheapest & best way to get around with a map in hand.Good food at all the restaurants on the Tenga-Chenang beach strech. Hot Wok, Orkid Ria, Changloon,Imperial Thai, Fat Mums, all have superb food (especially sea food) at amazingly low prices. The half day island hopping tour is wonderful. Wish they would make it Full day !Pulau Payar Marine park is a must see for the diving & snorkelling (my first time...it was magical) Don't be put off by the advertised prices. You can get a tour for Rm 60 with pick-up & drop-off. Only the cold packed lunch sucks...so take you own !The 7 wells water falls are overrated. Ditto Duty free shopping. But Langkawi is Amazingly beautiful. A must Go !!!!

I recommend the Safforn restaurant for lunch and dinner meals on the beach. I have enjoyed the fish and eagle feeding tour and the best thing about it that it was only for us no other people. I think anyone would really enjoy sitting in balcony of the reading room at sunset, I couldn't resist it.

Rental of cars is easily available and rates are economical which makes getting around the island very easy.

There's a unique restaurant in the middle of the swamp (sorry cannot remember the name) which provides good Thai food and offer cruises too.

The location is 30 minites off from center and we have to depend on taxi to go every where. (If you seek the quiteness, it is very good.) Next to the hotel, there is very nice Malay restaurant which is called Sun Village.

Great part of the island as it is a short taxi ride to airport- didn't hear the planes once during our stay. Good eating estabilishments near by- try Moody's for breakfast where you get great and cheap food with excellent service and conversation.

Langkawi is generally unspoilt and well worth a visit. Many local legends provide you with visiting opportunities and cultural change. Food provisions are readily available, esp local fare. Island hopping is also easy and cheap.
