Ocean Park with Gray Line Tours. Hon Po Restaurant on Austin Road.
Marco Polo HK Hotel is just like 50 metres away from Star Ferry and a ride on the ferry is just HK2.20cts. The hotel is housed together with their other chain namely Gateway and Prince surrounded with shops, cafes and restaurants, supermarkets and fast food. So its very convenient.

Taking MRT around HK is definite and the hotel is only 3 mins away from the nearest MRT station. Around the hotel are the individual shops in Tsim Sha Tsui which you do bargain hunting. If you are for branded stuffs, visit Harbour City/ Ocean Terminal which is only 10 mins walk away. Ocean Terminal is also the jetty for ferry service to Macau and Shenzhen. About 20 mins away from the hotel is the Hung Hom train station for inter-city transportation. Beware of food or restaurants around this area as it can get quite expensive. Must try the beef noodle in a restaurant next to the hotel (left of the lobby).

Taking the MTR and walking to all destinations is what'll make travelling in Hong Kong special. The city transport is well planned and with a little figuring out, you wouldn't need a cab. Of course once in while you'd take the wrong MTR exits, but with a map handed out at the airport for tourists, you'd be sure to find your way. Also try the city check in at the basement of the IFC mall. While waiting for your flight, do some more shopping at the posh IFC mall and then take the 25 minute bullet train ride to the airport.

If you are planning 5 ~ 6 days stay then the best way to get aroung Hong kong is to be on your own. Plenty of Tourist info literatures available at the airport and you can plan your own tours and journeys. Just buy Octopus card at the airport. This card can be used on Buses including airport to city, Underground, trams, ferry, towards paying entrance fees to many attractions and even at many convinience stores like seven 11.The refund is easy at the airport whilst leaving Hong kong. Pls remember to specify your fares when paying by Octopus card.
Travel by tram to the peak and return by bus, Visit Ocean park and one must also take two tours of "behind the scenes" at Ocen park, Visit to largest statue of Buddha are recommended. Visit to all Night markets, Ladies market and Jade market are excellent and depending on the item you want to buy, sometimes you can bargain upto 30% of the offered price! As a thumb rule, one should not offer more than 50% of the the intial quoted price.

Good starting point for tours around Hongkong. 10 min walk to ferry terminals (to outlaying islands, Hongkong island and Macau). Walking distance to all street markets in Kowloon/Mongkog. Near MTR and bus station. 5 min walk to Lock Road where lots of good and cheap restaurants are.
We recommand you to buy an Octopus card for local trains, buses and ferries. Gives you discount rates and you don't have to have lots of coins to pay exact rates.

Bike hire is about 30m from the hotel door and very reasonable at HK$10/hr or HK$30/day. We used the bikes to ride to some local spots and had a great time. The local food was good including the 'China Bear' Pub (next to McDonalds) which served some very nice english meals. This was much appreciated after living on Mainland China for a few months. The Pizzeria, opposite the Ferry terminal, also made a decent pizza. We looked around Lantau Island using a day pass for the bus. It was both simple and interesting.

Excellent Chinese restaurant (Lei Garden) straight across from the hotel. Intimate Italian place 2 blocks west on Electric Road with EXCELLENT thin crust pizza. Starbucks near there. 5 minute walk to the tram or 10 minutes to MTR. Minutes from Causeway Bay for great shopping. 4 stops on MTR to Convention Centre.

Hotel is 5 mins from night market. Better shops, Star Ferry, main hotels are 6 mins by taxi. Best buffet is in Royal Garden, 8 mins by taxi. Recommend Cinta J's Indonesian BBQ restaurant for absolutely the best live music and great atmosphere (HK Island Central district). Don't let pushy taxi drivers take you to the airport - insist they take you to the Airport Express rail, cheap and 25 mins only. Station is near hotel.

The hotel is situated at an excellent location, I took less then 45 minutes to travel from the airport to the hotel in the hotel transfer bus (HK120 per person per trip). Places such as the Art Museum, Cultural Centre, Space Museum etc are just within walking distance. Going to places such as the Ladies' Market, the Wholesale Market, Wong Tai Sin Temple, Ocean Park etc are so convenient as the MTR station is such around the corner. No worries for food as the hotel is surrounded by tonnes of eating houses and resturant. I don't even need a map to find my way back to the hotel after a day's shopping and munching. Please check the weather before travelling, we had a group of travellers who travelled in sleeveless shirts, shorts and mini skirts, it was about 17 degrees celcius when we arrived! Oh, remember to bring lotion or spray for muscel aches and sprain if you intend to shop, as most of the MTR station have lots of stairs (hehehehe). It was a wonderful trip and I am already craving for the next one.

Hong Kong has a real buzz - best thing to do is to wander the busy streets, window shop, enjoy the good value food, and of, course, enjoy that stunning harbour view. But it is no bargain - I can buy cameras and electronics for the same price or better in the UK nowadays. Take a no. 6 bus from Central to Stanley for a really cheap way to sightsee HK Island.
