P Shin 25 January 2003
Stayed at  Metropark Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
The subway transportation is the most convenient way to travel aroung Hong Kong. I took couple of daily trip arranged by hotel, and these were quite nice as well.

W Mutter 25 January 2003
Stayed at  Cosco Hotel, Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
If taking a bus or train to mainland China, be ready to stand in line with all your luggage twice (once leaving HK and once entering China). It's a pain in the b**t and they need to figure out a better way of doing things! Also don't try to save money by taking the less expensive bus. It's worth every penny to spend extra.

A Wlodarczyk 24 January 2003
Stayed at  Guangdong Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
MTR - is very convenient means of transportation.

K Hui hing 24 January 2003
Stayed at  Ibis North Point - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Went around on the MTR (train). Very near the train station. Very good.

J Thomsen 23 January 2003
Stayed at  Shamrock Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
To travel in Hong Kong is easy. The underground is very good (def. better than in Germany or Shanghai). You have to buy an Octopus card. With this card you can go by underground, ferry and you can also buy in a lot of shops.

N Owens 20 January 2003
Stayed at  Novotel Century Hong Kong Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
I mainly used taxi around Hongkong and Kowloon. Taxi drivers were nice and polite, although we don't communicate very much verbally due to language barrier, but we seemed to understand one another okay (with helps of hotel staff). I was in Hongkong on business trip and taxi do provide reciepts if requested.

S Kodikara 20 January 2003
Stayed at  Wesley, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is a facinating place to visit even though a touch expensive even by UK standards. There are plenty of bargains to be had especially if you are in to gadgets and gizmos but avoid the latest models as these tend be similarly priced to UK. MTR was a fantastic way to get around.

Y Komatsu 17 January 2003
Stayed at  Royal Pacific Hotel & Towers, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
If you stay over 3 days it worth to buy Octo-pass. It's including airport express (2 way) and 3 days free pass MTR, plus HK$20 value. check: www.mtr.com.hk

N Bowey 16 January 2003
Stayed at  Newton Inn North Point - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
MTR, trams, buses all very handy and inexpensive--Octopus card system excellent especially as any value left on the card, as well as deposit, is refunded at the airport.

S Kelley 16 January 2003
Stayed at  Eaton Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is amazing, and the Eaton is so central to everything. Subway access is key and they are two blocks from the station, and right in the middle of the Jordan Street bazaar which is some of the best knik-knak shopping available. They have fake-louie that actually looks pretty real.. and lots of the best prices in Hong-Kong for small stuff.

The food in the area is excellent, especially the Dim Sum restaurant up the street, and the one across the street. I recommend the stay if you can get a cheap price on the hotel.
