For TST destinations, the airport bus turned out to take about the same amount of door-to-door time, at 1/3 the cost of the train.

Hong Kong is a great city! Sophisticated, cosmopolitan, has a pulse, very clean, easy to get around, good transport systems. Great airport, Easy to get luggage and stuff from airport to shuttlebus to hotel, staff almost everywhere are helpful, friendly. No 'slackers' encountered here, I guess it's the Asian work ethic. Also very SAFE, as a female, often alone, this was a blessing. Women walking alone at night are not bothered. Will stay longer next time.

Taxis are the easiest and most efficient way to get around Hong Kong, but for travelling between Central or Wan Chai and TST, don't forget the Star Ferry - great views of Victoria and still the best (maybe last) bargain in Hong Kong.

Great place, first time there will go back. Very easy to navigate and get around except MRT staff unhelpful to tourists trying to get from MRT line to Kowloon airport express station. Ended up making three changes of train to get on airport express train.

The hotel is within walking distance to the Star Ferry, the Peak Tram, Hollywood road, Langkow Fong, and Soho. It's very convenient. We loved Shanghai restaurant in Soho and Dragon Culture (shopping) on Hollywood Road.

Hotel is very well-located for taking the train to China. It is not particularly accessible to the subway though.

We only had a couple of days but Kowloon was great, the night market was very close. Interesting. We walked and took the ferry.

Some great local eating around the nearby markets. Caught the #1 bus from the ferry terminal on the mainland, which takes you to its terminus in the New Territories at Chuck Yuen, then back again for a good tour of HK, sit up the top at the front. The bus journey into HK (stops not far from the hotel on Hennessy Rd, ask directions) is another good introduction. Try the Victoria peak walk around the peak, a scenic 1.5 hr walk.

As an ex-resident, the MTR is the only way, supplemented by taxi. Restaurants - when I am hungry and want real HK food, small noodle shops and delights by 'hole in the wall' food outlets are the best.

Had a great time in Hong Kong. The easiest way to get around was to buy a one-day subway pass (available only to tourists) for HK$50 which allowed unlimited rides on the subway system (a good deal since even a short trip is HK$10, and longer trips can be up to HK$26).
