Hong Kong's an amazing city and it still thrills even after having lived there for a year in the 90's. Take the tram from one end to the other on Hong Kong island for 20p - don't forget to sit upstairs and get a front seat if you can. This is the best way to start your trip to Hong Kong as it gives you a real sense of where everything is and just how many people there really are! Take the no 15 bus to the Peak rather than the tram - it's cheaper, less touristy and you get the views on the way. Take the MTR to Chai Wan and a taxi to the start of the Shek-O National Park for a fabulous walk with amazing views over the Dragon's Back to Shek-O where you can have an excellent Thai meal and a relax on the beach afterwards! Don't be afraid to get a taxi - they're so cheap (average journey, £2-3!).
For a tourist friendly dim sum lunch (English, easy to understand menus, rather than the usual full-on Chinese menus), go to the restaurant downstairs in Pacific Place which claims to have the best dim sum. Try turnip cakes and BBQ pork buns!

I used the train a lot and they were really easy to use. The weather wasn't too great while I was there. It was cloudy and rainy. I didn't get to go to all the places I had wanted to go. The shopping was wonderful. In some places it's difficult to get into the women's bathroom. You need a key to use them, for safety reasons I guess.

I visited Ocean Park, Pacific Place shopping center, and The Peak. The best steak was in the hotel itself. Everything was very accessible. I mostly used taxis, but took the tour bus to Ocean Park. It was all very inexpensive. How could I not recommend it, I had an excellent time.

I lived in Hong Kong for 20 years. Best tip to see Hong Kong: Jump on a tram and trundle around all day getting on and off where you want. Take a ferry to the outlying islands and watch the sunset from the Kowloon side Tsim Tsa Tsui walkway to right of the Star Ferry.
Go to the Felix in the Peninsula for the view. Take the Peak tram and the Nr. 15 bus down from the peak. Walk around Wanchais back streets and find the markets...

I visited Shenzhen and Macau. Most high-end restaurants provide reasonably good food. It's very easy to move around in HK and I particularly enjoyed the tramways even though the trams are like bone-shakers, probably due to the trams being old and not well serviced. The other mode of transport, such as the MTR is also very efficient, but I can't say the same of the customer service officers, they seem to be always in a rush and do not have patience if there were more questions asked. Hong Kong is a great place if you like moving on foot. I had been to HK three times and I still enjoyed going there.

Situated very close to MTR, Star Ferry and local buses. Local transport is very cheap and frequent, so no problem in visiting anywhere on Kowloon on Hong Kong Island.
