Stayed at  Pousada de Mong-Ha - Macau, Macau.
Staff recommended the nearby Hollywood Restaurant. Awesome value, but go hungry as the meals are HUGE! Macau is a great place to just stroll around and enjoy yourself; more low key than Hong Kong. Do go over to Coloane Island to Hac Sa Bay.

The Westin offers a free shuttle into town, which is ideal to get you in the vicinity of tourist attractions. From there you can take a taxi. Otherwise, taxis can get rather expensive.

Macau is beautiful, and small enough to be explored in a weekend. I spent the first day on the main island, seeing the Ah-ma temple, Penha church, main square, cathedral facade, museum, gardens and Guia fort. Day 2 was then free to explore the villages and sights on Taipa and Coalone. The bus routes are clearly marked and it's a cheap and efficient way to get around.

Stayed at  Emperor Hotel Macau - Macau, Macau.
Macau is very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 days there. We had good meals everywhere we ate, and all at good prices. We walked from our hotel to most sites in the main area. Walking the narrow cobblestone streets is very interesting.

Westin has shuttle bus service from hotel to the airport, so if there is an advance request, there might be a same service from the airport to hotel? Because we took the taxi to hotel from the ariport then.

Stayed at  Holiday Inn Macau - Macau, Macau.
I enjoyed Macau. It remains a nice break away from the frantic pace in Hong Kong. Transportation connections to Macau and to the hotel were flawless, and Macau is an easy place to tour on foot because it is so small. (I did it easily with two small children in tow.)

J Hanewald 04 August 2002
Stayed at  Pousada de Sao Tiago - Macau, Macau.
Macau is a small place, easy and cheap to get around. Prices for shopping are lower than Hong Kong

C Moores 02 August 2002
Stayed at  Mandarin Oriental Macau - Macau, Macau.
Hire a bicycle and cycle to all the sights.

T Seng, phuah 24 July 2002
Stayed at  Beverly Plaza Hotel - Macau, Macau.
The hotel is near to the famous casino and near to the jetty too. Overall I enjoyed the stay.

We find the blend of Chinese temples and Portugese style building and facades charming, particularly the paved pedestrianised roads in the city centre. The shuttle buses from the resort to the city were quite frequent, and one can easily get around by taxis.
