Very near to airport. But we travelled by car. A lot of cars on the road. .sometimes stranded on traffic jams. Nice 'ikan bakar' and seafood at Pantai Lido.

Taxi in JB are very convienient and cheap so no need to rent a car. The newer Emas Restaurant immediately off of Jalan Story was excellent.

For other foreigners who may not be aware of it flights from Johor Bahru to other parts of Malaysia are approximately a third of the price of flights from Singapore to the same destinations. There is a Malaysian Airlines bus service from the Copthorne Orchid hotel in Singapore to Senai airport in the mornings. Later in the day the shared taxi service from Rochor Road is quite satisfactory and will drop you at the hotel

Should provide shuttle bus from City Square to Eden Garden Hotel. (Probably customer need to pay Rm $1.00 for bus fare in order to save time and journey).

JB is a great place for a weekend escape from Singapore - cheap shopping , plenty of restaurant choice.
Easy to walk around, though be wary of the many dark alleyways at night.

Johor Bahru is a bit of a dump but the hotels are much less expensive than Singapore. Local bus service connects to the Singapore metro system every few minutes and is inexpensive.

It is not far from the airport and I like the location because it is near the water front and quiet (if one enjoys peace and quiet). One needs to walk or take a cab for a variety of restaurant. I did not have the opportunity to try good restaurant because of time. I did try to locate a dim sum restaurant but that was closed.

Should provided transfer from/to Town and Singapore as hotel is too far from town. Bowling lane need to upgrade as some lane is not well functioned.
