L Ovens 20 January 2003
Stayed at  Keong Saik Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
Chinatown good for shopping. Getting around Singapore however seemed very spread out. Would need more than one day and would like information on how best a family of 5 could attack some of the highlights that the city offers.

G Jacke 20 January 2003
Stayed at  Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
Destination was good, close to a shopping center and close to Chinatown. The restaurant in the hotel was perfect. We traveled around with taxis.

N Doherty 08 January 2003
Stayed at  Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore, Singapore.
Location great, MRT links great, taxi availability great.

S Yip 05 January 2003
Stayed at  Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore, Singapore.
Singapore is extremely easy to get around. Commute to major shopping malls by MRT is convenient and fare is low. I took the MRT to the hotel that costs only SGD1.4!

V Ma 02 January 2003
Stayed at  Phoenix Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
I took a taxi cab to the hotel. It costs about $15 Singapore dollar and takes 20 minutes from the aiport. The hotel is very close to major shopping malls and public transportation. Very happy with the location.

L Stryker-cao 01 January 2003
Stayed at  Swissotel Merchant Court - Singapore, Singapore.
Singapore is great fun especially after a stay in a less developed Asian country like Bali. A taxi driver gave us a little tour of Little India, the Hindu temple and a Chinese temple for 20 Singapore dollars then dropped us off in Chinatown. We took a taxi to the zoo to see the Night Safari in the evening which was fantastic. A great way to avoid the heat and heavy tourist traffic.

T Chung 29 December 2002
Stayed at  Novotel Batam - Batam Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
It is located little off the city center, need to use taxi for shopping and enjoying entertainment.

N Ringrose 29 December 2002
Stayed at  Oriental Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
Getting in to town from the airport is much easier now that the subway system has been extended to Changi Airport.

I Farr 29 December 2002
Stayed at  Oriental Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.
We went shopping in the adjoining Shopping Centre which was rather down market but linked into Suntec Shopping Centre without us having to get wet. Taxi transfers to and from the airport were fairly inexpensive.

E Musegaas 25 December 2002
Stayed at  Mayang Sari Beach Resort - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.
Beautiful resort. However if you like to see something of the island you have take 3 different public buses to get to town, it takes about 1½ hours. The hotel doesn't provide a simple transfer to town like most (luxury) hotels around the world do.
