Stayed at Holiday Inn Atrium Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.

Singapore Zoo is definitely a MUST. We only had two days so made the most of the light train system and buses, both of which are fantastically efficient and easy to use.

Stayed at Keong Saik Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
|
Some Singapore traveller's map does not have the hotel located. Most amazingly, when I get on the first taxi in Singapore and ask to get me to Keong Saik Road, the taxi driver didn't even know about the road so I had to ask him to get me to Outram MRT instead! If you're travelling by the MRT make sure you ask the Passenger Service counter of the whereabouts. Some times the directions give may be confusing as there are more than one exits from the MRT station (I was lost couple of times because of the unclear information given). The hotel is just beside a Hindu temple.

Stayed at Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore. The - Singapore, Singapore.
|
The Ritz Carlton SG is located at the end of the underground shopping complexes; however, it's an easy taxi ride over to Orchard Road. Travelers beware of afternoon rainstorms because you will not be able to find a taxi for at least an hour or so. Call for a private taxi if it begins to rain.

Stayed at Orchard Hotel Singapore - Singapore, Singapore.

I have travelled to Singapore a few times during the past two years, and find the place consistently being able to develop new spots of interest. One tip for tourists is that this place seems to suffer consistently from an under-supply of taxis, a factor that tourists cannot ignore particularly if they wish to travel to places out of way from the MRT (underground) lines, at both peak and late hours.

Stayed at Swissotel Merchant Court - Singapore, Singapore.
|
Definitely boat and Clarke Quay at night, Sentosa Island at night, underwater world for kids. We took the taxi and subway, both excellent. The good thing about taxi cabs are you could use a credit card if you don't have cash on you. Singapore is a very clean city compared to the rest of Asian cities except for the humidity!!

Singapore has an excellent public transport system and that makes it easy for anybody to move around without any problems. I particularly like the cleanliness in Singapore.

Stayed at Asia Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.
|
We were first time in Singapore. A clean and efficient place, and for us, a safe way to be introduced to Asia. We are not culturally used to haggling in shops, so I guess we should have been better prepared for that. We travelled with a baby, and found that no problem, but getting on the MRT with a pram/stroller was not a good idea. The MRT worked nicely for us when we used a baby carrier instead of the pram/stroller. We ate at nearby food courts and found that excellent value for money. With only two days in Singapore, we did not get to see very much, but enjoyed a day walking around Arab Street and Little India areas.
