Location is great for my purpose of visit, ie shopping. You can shop till you drop and walk over the streets back to your room to have a small rest and check your shoppings. There is a big supermarket just next to the hotel at Paragon that you don't have to carry the heavy items like drinks for a long way before you reach your hotel. Especially during peak hours which is when everybody goes out, it is hard to get taxi to other places from Orchard road. The value for money is worth than wasting your time queing for taxi.

For breakfast, there are many indoor and open-air facilities that offer the same fare at one-third the price within a few hundred metres on Orchard Road. Since some of these lie between the hotel and the Orchard Road subway stop, it is firmly recommended that visitors to this hotel not book the breakfast as part of their room rate if they propose immediately thereafter to venture out on their own.

Must take the Mangrove tour--excellent! Small boat with only about 7 people. Saw all kinds of plants and wildlife. Felt like I was on the Discovery Channel!

I highly suggest this hotel for the holiday traveller. Take taxis as they usually cost no more that US$3 for most destinations in the heart of the city. For a fun trip I prefer the Jurong Bird Park.

Stayed at New Park Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.

Local transport cheap & plentiful.
organised tours from foyer desk do not cost any more. Also bus collects from hotel.
Sites visited were:-
1. Santosa island - good family fun.
2. Night safari - Not as good, animals were difficult to see at night.
3. Junk boat tour of bay was good, only sight of large oil rigs spoilt it a little.
Singapore is good place for a holiday.

Stayed at Mayang Sari Beach Resort - Bintan Island (Indonesia), Singapore.

Did not have long enough to go on tours but did some walks to the local seafood restaurant which looked spectacular. When raining the buggy service was invaluable and very efficient. Ate mostly at Mayang Sari or the Nirwana. Food good at both. Massage Spa complex beautiful at Mayang Sari but too expensive. Had same treatment at Nirwana for much less. Would have preferred to use the Asari complex but just too expensive. Bike hire at Mayang Sari not flexible, had to pay for 2 hours when we only wanted them for 30 minutes.

Stayed at Albert Court Hotel - Singapore, Singapore.

A good place for a stop over UK-Australia. We didn't take any tours just walked. Enjoyed the Asian Art Museum and the Art Gallery - Rodin exhibition.
Enjoyed the lack of hassling and the cleanliness of Singapore. It would be very useful to have bus maps available, the MRP was easy to use and a pleasure to use (out of peak).
