S Yip 26 March 2003
Stayed at  International Hotel Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Taxis are cheap and readily available.

A Akber 26 March 2003
Stayed at  Lisa Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Location is poor with probably nothing much ie. convenience stores, decent restaurants in immediate surrounding and probably due lack of business, taxis and other modes of public transport can be hard to find at times. Not recommended for first-time travellers to the country unless you have businesses in nearby areas. Also be aware of the extra charges impose by the hotel especially the manager/owner himself if you have friend/relative to stay overnight..it is a rip-off.

R Hauck 24 March 2003
Stayed at  Asia Hotel - Hanoi, Vietnam.
Hanoi is just great. Rent a bycicle or a motobike and cruise around, not only in the Old Quarter - the Hoan Kiem District or the eastern part of town are recommendable.

L Nguyen 21 March 2003
Stayed at  Empress Hotel Ho Chi Minh City - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Not too far and taxi is very inexpensive.

M Lemley 19 March 2003
Stayed at  De Syloia Hotel - Hanoi, Vietnam.
Hanoi is a walking town. Be prepared.

Y Lee 19 March 2003
Stayed at  New World Hotel Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
The journey from airport to hotel is nice and the location is quite good.

D Bressem 17 March 2003
Stayed at  Bong Sen Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Dong Khoi is a typical tourist area and no good place for budget travellers, with high prices everywhere and for everything. Hint: Take a taxi to PHAM NGU LAO, there you can find a lot of restaurants at reasonable prices.

N Cardno 16 March 2003
Stayed at  Majestic Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Booked a taxi from outside the hotel to drive us to the Cu Chi tunnels and other places of interest (cheaper and quicker than taking a tour or booking a taxi through the hotel). The War Remnants Museum is a harrowing experience but well worth a visit to see the true horrors of the Vietnam war.

N Chong 14 March 2003
Stayed at  Omni Saigon Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
Getting around in a taxi is cheap, convenient, and relatively safe. There are actually some good restaurants around town like The Temple Club which served Asian Fusion cuisine in an old Shanghai decor setting. You have to be very careful to avoid the motorbikes on the street though.

B Aston 13 March 2003
Stayed at  Bong Sen Hotel - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam.
A great location close to the Saigon River and a wide variety of restaurants. Plenty of local transport available close to the hotel.
