One of the museums that comes highly recommended is the HK Space Museum opposite the Peninsula Hotel at the tip of Tsim Sha Tsui in Kowloon. Another one is the very good HK Art Museum. Try and see if they give out free weekly visitor museum passes at the Tourist Information at the Star Ferry in Tsim Sha Tsui; I got one and it lets you visit 6 different museums for free for one week - all you need to to is bring your passport so they can check that you are really a visitor and no HK resident. AND: if you go to the Peak, try and walk up. It is not that far if you take the Mid-Levels Escalator from Central all the way up to Conduit Road and turn left there until you find the 'old Peak road' branching off which you just follow. It takes about one hour if you go slowly and is well worth the effort.

Hong Kong is simply terrific. A must for a visitor is Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery in Sha Tin. I would like to recommend Dynasty restaurant in the New World Renaissance Hotel-good food, reasonable prices, nice interior.

Hong Kong is a lovely place to visit as always. The Peak is a big MUST especially at night, the view is absolutely stunning and unforgettable. Its hard to recommend any particular restaurant because they are all so good and value for money. We find the transport frequent and inexpensive. The MTR should be proud of their service and cleaniness. The Octopus Card is incredible and easy to use. When shopping, discounts or special offers are abound.

Tsim Sha Tsui is my favourite area, the restaurants are inexpensive but delicious, lively even around midnight. If you are plannning to visit Hong Kong, I would recommend you to stay at Thim Sha Tsui not Hong Kong Island.

I definitely recommend if you stay in Hong Kong to be on the Kowloon side. It is better for everything.
If you like jogging don't miss going to the Kowloon Park in the early morning it is vibrant.
One thing that is excellent in Kowloon are the Tailors, you can get an excellent suit with fine fabrics for good prices.
In Hong Kong go the Stanley Market. Just take the MTR to Admiralty and then take a bus outside the station.

For a different side of Hong Kong, take the KCR railway to the New Territories, or go trail walking in the country park at the Eastern end of the Island. The Hong Kong museum is well worth a visit too.

I took the 5 hour Orientation tour by Splendid which takes you to the Peak and other places of interest to give you an idea of where everything is. I enjoyed the tour (although I would have preferred to skip the jewelry factory visit in the tour)and the views from the Peak are unmatched. If you are into shopping then there are several areas in HK, but I spent most of my time near Times Square. I also recommend dinner at 1 Harbour Rd Grand Hyatt as the views are spectacular. If you are headed to the beach you may want to go to Repulse bay. Also, a ferry trip to Lamma island is well worth it for a great seafood lunch or dinner. The fish and seafood are kept alive in tanks for your choosing so you can't beat the freshness!

Most people know where to go in HK. I did the tourist things like go up the Peak, a must for anyone visiting HK, went to the Mongkok and Stanley markets, visited Lamma Island by ferry (seafood resaurants on the main street very expensive...look further) and ate with the locals. Lan Kwai Fong is a fun area to eat and drink for one evening. No special bar or restaurant to mention as there are so many. On the Kowloon side, Knutsford Terrace off Nathan Road has a selection of bars and restaurants also. Chasers is a fun place with a great Philippino band performing there at the moment.
Used the ferries, MRT and buses very easily to get around...no need to use taxis so much although they are not prohibitively expensive.
