We really loved Macau!!!
We are not tour-type people but we don't think there is a need to take tours around Macau anyway. The bus system is excellent and much to see is in walking distance of the hotel.
We enjoyed the Maritime Museum.
We enjoyed the food. We had lunch on the south most island, west of the old village, at a restaurant on a hill over looking the South China Sea. The food was well prepared, fresh and inexpensive. Of course, the atmosphere was like something out of a movie.
Sara enjoyed walking along the beach although the sea although it is filthy. I enjoyed the nature walk across the end of the island.
The summer houses were interesting.
The casinos were disappointing. The minimuns are high.... almost thirty dollars u.s.a and the games favor the house by more than an acceptable amount.... I played only long enough to say I'd done it. Luckily, soon there was a point where I was ahead; so, I could walk away and be able even to say, "I won in Macau!"

We found Macau enjoyable, travel by taxis was easy, we also hired a car for one day. We visited the Maritime Museum, Hac Sa Beach for lunch at Fernandos, the fortress, several temples and the pedestrianised shopping areas.

Macau is a must see destination; a part of any short break or stop over in Hong Kong.

There are many places to visit in Macau. Because it is a fairly compact city, it is an ideal place to take a short break. Our family included three children between the ages 7 and 14. We visited the Maritime museum, the Museum of Macau, Monte Fort, and the old town on Taipa. The sense of history and the relaxed pace of life in Macau makes a welcome change from our home in Hong Kong. The restaurants are usually child friendly.

Arrived from H.K by ferry. However, shuttle bus services from hotel not so frequent, resulting in long waiting time. Had visited Lisboa Casino and some historical sites. Lisboa is a dirty place, but I like the other historical sites in Macau.

LOTS OF RESTAURANTS IN TAIPA VILLAGE, A 15 MINUTE WALK FROM
THE HYATT. HOWEVER, THE TOURIST MAP IS WRONG. WHEN YOU COME
TO THE ROUNDABOUT ON DR. SUN YAT SEN, STAY TO YOUR RIGHT AND
ASK DIRECTIONS AT THE VET'S OFFICE. HE'S AN AUSTRAILIAN. FERNANDO'S
ON COLONAE IS GREAT. A BUS WILL COST YOU 5 PATACAS, A TAXI 45
ONE WAY. ALSO TRY CARLOS NEAR THE ART MUSEUM. THE OWNER
SPEAKS ENGLISH. FOR BREAKFAST TRY BOLO OFF THE LEAL SENADO.
TURN RIGHT AT MCDONALDS AND GO UP THE HILL, IT'S ON YOUR LEFT.
GOOD VIEW FROM FORT AND LIGHTHOUSE. MARITIME MUSEUM IS GREAT.
IT'S AN EASY WALK FROM LEAL SENADO AND TAKE THE BUS.

Taipa is great - Hong Kong with a Mediterranean flavour. I would certainly go back and stay longer.
