Didn't find anything particularly interesting in Kuala Terengganu. But worth going to the Central Market if you want to shop for batik cloth or local food products. If time allows, go to Lake Kenyir, which is beautiful and the largest man-made lake in South-East Asia. Lake Kenyir is an hour's scenic drive from the city.
There are two nearby golf courses, which are pretty good - Astana (a hill course) and Ibai (a Links course)
