Do not lose your time going to MY SON Cham site, except if you are mad of history and archeology! Angkor is not so far and a really more interesting natural site for non initiated people! Walking around in Hoi Han is far more pleasant!
I really recommend you to come for the festival taking place in Hoi Han every year in March or April (depend on the year), many people, many lights in the night... Hoi Han city becomes beautiful!
Enjoy!

Plenty of good restaurants here, We liked the 'Banana Leaf' best, but plenty of others good too, eg Hai's Scout Cafe where did an excellent cooking course. You should also visit the My Son archaelogical site - fascinating.

Vietnam is a fantastic country. I am always touched when thinking about the friendliness and hospitality of the Vietnamese people. We travelled around using hired minivans as we were a family group of 6 adults and 2 young children. The prices were reasonable and it allowed greater flexibility. Spending a little extra to take internal flights saved on time and stress when travelling with small children. We would often ask at the hotels we were staying for recommendations to local restaurants and were always pleased with the meals - even for the vegetarians amongst us.
A great experience was our time in Hue where we took some time to visit Buddhist monasteries and see the ancient sights. The buffet dinner for ten US dollars at the Morin was outstanding with service, quality of food and traditional music and entertainment in a magical setting lit by hundreds of candles and lights. I enjoyed my time in Vietnam and would love to return and explore and experience more of this fascinating country.

Hoi An is a very pretty & interesting town, particularly the world heritage area.
Brothers Cafe on the river is a brilliant dining experience. Marble Mountain just up the road is well worth visiting.

We rented bikes at the hotel everyday and rode into Hoi An. That was really fun. We ate at a really delicous place specializing in the local noodle dish "cau lau" at Yellow river restaurant, #42. Besides the noodle dish, the other dishes we tried were also excellent.
Visitng My Son is a must for anybody interested in Cham hindu temples. Our guide book didn't recommend it, but we went anyway and thought it was really exceptional. Next to the Hoi An Beach Resort is a drawbridge that leads across the river which you must pay to cross to go to the restaurant. It's worth it. You can sit on the river and have a drink or a meal and definatly walk around and look at the other out buildings here. It was built by a french architect, and very charming. We had some of the best tasting chicken here too. Everyone was very friendly.

The restaurant near the hotel is very cheap and good.
There is a book office recommended by Lonely Planet in the same street: very cheep and very warm staff. We visited MY SON, MARBLE MOUNTAIN, DANANG (CHAM MUSEUM), we booked taxi.
The town of HOI AN is a very nice place to visit, very authentic. We book motorbike to go to CUA DAI beach.

We love Hoi An so our days were crowded. We got our laundry done in town which was a zillionth of the price of that of the hotel. We visited the temples of My Son but generally ate at the wonderful restaurants in the old quarter and shopped. We got around on bikes and the hotel bus mostly. The best restaurant by far was Miss Ly's and the best tailor was 19 Le Loi, the girls there work hard and deliver a good product.

Hoi An is fantastic - it's got a bit of everything: great atmosphere, interesting sights, charming streets, lovely river, nice restaurants, great shopping & tailoring. The proximity to the beach is wonderful. After walking hours in extreme heat and 89% humidity, it was heaven to throw oneself into the sea!

Small fishing town that can be seen in a day. Brother's cafe is an upscale restaurant with wonderful ambience with reasonable prices and excellent service.
