I would still go to Hong Kong to shop. I find that items, especially electronic goods, are still reasonably priced compared to Manila's.

Hong Kong is amazing, and the Eaton is so central to everything. Subway access is key and they are two blocks from the station, and right in the middle of the Jordan Street bazaar which is some of the best knik-knak shopping available. They have fake-louie that actually looks pretty real.. and lots of the best prices in Hong-Kong for small stuff.
The food in the area is excellent, especially the Dim Sum restaurant up the street, and the one across the street. I recommend the stay if you can get a cheap price on the hotel.

The hotel is within walking distance to the Star Ferry, the Peak Tram, Hollywood road, Langkow Fong, and Soho. It's very convenient. We loved Shanghai restaurant in Soho and Dragon Culture (shopping) on Hollywood Road.

HK is really a heaven for consumers, it's good to buy cosmetics, clothes and electronic appliances here. But accommodation and eating are comparatively higher than other Asian cities.

Hong Kong was interesting to visit, but tourists were being stopped every few meters by people trying to sell fake Rolex watches and cheap suits. This meant we were unwilling to look in shops.

The hotel is within walking distance from the city and ferry to Hong Kong Island. Wonderful eating places are found just across Waterloo road, and a colourful market just across Nathan Road.

Lots of low price items on Caravan Road at Tsim Sha Tsui. Have to walk into the buildings and move through the different floors. Most of the shops sell trendy clothing, jewelry and collectible items.

Short time in HK so did main sights, could have done with longer. Space museum good for the children we all enjoyed the peak and star ferry trips. Night markets well worth visiting but in general we found it expensive in comparison with other SE Asian countries.

Flower market, the bird market as well as the pet shops are all in Tai Zi stop if you take the subway to Kowloon. For sports shoes, go to Yau Ma Tei stop also in Kowloon. There is a ladies market where you can get a good bargain for clothings, bags, accessaries etc. Another good shopping area where lots of young people like to visit is Lei Si where trendy, small shops sells some of the most interesting stuff. But go in the afternoon as most shops only open late.
