Hong Kong is a busy and exciting city. Shoppers can find the latest in fashion and electronics or browse the markets on the Kowloon side for outstanding bargains.
Traffic is busy but well organized and relatively safe. Taxis are plentiful and inexpensive. Public transport is fast, clean, safe, and very cheap. We booked a day tour the first day in order to get our bearings and see the highlights but after that we used the trolley, star ferry, buses and MTR to get around. The maps and tourist information found in our hotel room, along with the many helpful people we met in the street were our tour guides for the remainder of our stay.

If you are interested in shopping for trendy clothes, try loooking into some of the smaller streets near Graville road in Tsim Sha Tsui. There are hidden multi-floor mini malls with tiny boutique shops.

Causeway Bay is a really exciting place which is complete with high end and reasonable shopping and great restaurants. Am from Asia with Spanish descent and always prefer to stay in Causeway Bay. That's where you really "feel" Hong Kong.

We just walked around most of the time. Taxis were not hard to come by though. The Yung Kee restaurant was so good that we went there for dinner 2 out of our 3 days there. The Temple Street Market has great bargains.

Boiled soup is consider a national dish in hongkong. There is this small soup restaurant at the end of temple street that serve very tasty soups. After a bargain shopping at temple street, travellers can drop by this resturant "robert tom" for a light sip of tasty soup.

We were for a few days in Hongkong and we found it enough. We did some shopping, went to Aberdeen and did a boat trip, to Stanley market and Victoria Peak. We wouldn't want to be there for more than a couple of days.

This was my third trip to Hong Kong and was a weekend away from the crowds of Tokyo! Lunch at the Peak Cafe was as always great, with excellent service and wonderful food. The rest of the time was spent between sightseeing and shopping. Transportation was a mix of buses and taxis. AT least Hong Kong taxi drivers know where they are going compared to Tokyo Taxi drivers who arent that great!Shopping at Times Square in Causeway Bay was very good and the streets around bustling with life on a Sunday afternoon. For early evening drinks I definitely recommend the Captains Bar at the Mandarin.
