Stayed at  Ibis North Point - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
hong kong is like a new toy, a new little gadget... it comes with a very easy to learn owner's manual. all you need to walk around in h.k. is an octopus card (very convenient! works with bus, metro, 7-11, and a lot more), a metro guide, a city map, and a tourist guide, available for free in the airport. don't forget the camera of course.. if you are planning to get one in hong kong, avoid the tim sha tsui stores.. they're like a casino.. you will never win!

I have been in love with Hong Kong for twenty-five years. Each visit just increases that feeling. Shopping, culture, history are all there and very easy to find wheather by bus, underground or taxi. NOTE: Taxi drivers say there is tooo much traffic...if I take another route it if farther, but little traffic! Forget that. Tell them you know where you are going and have time.

Hong Kong is not city with a large number of tourist attractions. Three days is all that is required, unless you are going for shopping. Note Hong Kong is only cheap for electronics, however buyer beware and only go to either Fortress, Citicall or Broadway.

Stayed at  Imperial Hotel Hong Kong - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Since our trip was short, we spent most of our time shopping. Also went to the Hong Kong side through a ferry and took a tour from the hotel to Ocean Park, which was a good experience.

Stayed at  Stanford Hotel - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
Hong Kong is and will always be a busy and crowded place. Great food and bargains. The best way to go around is via MTR (very easy to use) or the bus. Don't forget to get your Octopus card in any MTR Customer service, makes it so much more convenient than having to find change to get to any bus or train.

It's a bit of a walk to the MTR. I would have preferred a closer hotel to the MTR. But then again, I only live 2 blocks to my train station. The location is good if you plan to shop at Ladies Market but if you plan to travel around to various places, you probably want a hotel more conveniently located to public transportation.

Stayed at  Kowloon Hotel, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
there's limited cultural venues in hong kong aside from very high end and very low end shopping, people watching, and clubbing/karaoke for those staying for short visits. excellent cuisine can be found everywhere from western to eastern styles. victoria peak and a ferry ride is a must do. walking tours around central (finance district) and causeway bay are worthwhile.

Hong Kong is definitely a city that should be visited at least once in a lifetime. It is a prime example of capitalism at its finest. The city's energy is as envigorating as it is never-ending. You will find people out and about at just about any hour of the day or night. The Dorsett Garden Hotel is ideally located just off of Nathan Road -- Kowloon's main artery. The famous Night Market is only a block away and should not be missed.

Went to the Peak, which of course is a must. For shopping, do go to Pacific Place. They also have the better movie theatres. Repulse Bay is good, although the sand is not that great - but the size makes it possible for you to find a spot. Do take the Ferry to Kowloon and walk along the ocean - bring a tri-pod for your camera to take night pictures! Otherwise, enjoy the restaurants - the selection is great, and I was rarely disappointed.

Stayed at  Kowloon Hotel, The - Hong Kong, Hong Kong.
This hotel is in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, and two minutes walk away to the MTR station. It's very convenience for shopping and touring .
