Causeway Bay is good for shopping if you're that way inclined albeit very busy and with high air pollution. The Rosedale is set away from the main hustle and bustle and has an excellent French restaurant directy opposite. By taxi (easy to flag down outside) Wanchai and Central are only minutes away. Other public transport is not so convenient - however, taxis are cheap in Hong Kong.

HK very good for food, clothes, cheap CD/DVDs and games, transportation is very accessible to anyone to anyplace, but when buying must learn how to follow the "local customers" to the regular shop, don't go to tourist shops...

I took a day trip on a jet-foil to Macau and it wasn't very interesting. I liked the electronics market on Apliu St near Sham Shui Po MTR.

The best place for a drink with a great view is at the Intercontinental Hotel. Pay a visit to the Wong Tai Sin temple (at the subway station of the same name). For a good range of stores selling antique wares go to Hollywood Street in Central. The Pizzeria restaurant of the Kowloon Hotel has a great buffet lunch at a reasonable price (for Hong Kong!).

The Dolphin watch is a must, pink dolphins? They are beautiful. Shopping in Macau is also great, 24k gold bracelets and rings cheaper than the Middle east hotspots (famed for their cheap high quality gold).

On our trip back to airport, we took a cab into central for HK$40, checked/forwarded our luggage in this down-town airport-rail express station. Was fancy free for the next four hours in this gigantic interconnected octopuss shopping plazas coupling high-end and bargain shopping through a walkway. Plush red couches for sipping coffee w/ free internet access at the Pacific Cafe, then haute-culture shopping ... across the walkway extremely well-priced consumer products, geared for HK's domestic aid's weekend shopping excursions. What a lovely parity of pleasure and savings.
