Singapore is a boring tourist destination. The rumors are true. Everything is clean. There were hardly any stray leaves on the ground. There was no smell at all. However there is not much here since it is so new. THere are just hundreds of malls. I can't believe that they managed to fit so many malls in such a small city. Nothing is cheap. If you like the prices in THailand and Indonesia and Malaysia, don't expect that here. Prices are nearly the same as the US. THe night safari was nice. BUt very hard to get to. 25 minutes on the subway and then 30 minutes on a local bus that tourists were completely confused about using. Singapore is Hong Kong if they demolished the whole island and then built everything new from scratch. I used Sing. as a short 3 day trip and went to TIoman Island, which is gorgeous, by 4 hour ferrry directly from Sing.

I just scratched the surface in this, my first visit to Singapore. The shopping is extraordinary, of course, but not the kind of bargain that it apparently was years ago. You really need to know the price or things before you buy! The History Museum and the Art Museum are very limited in what they exhibit, but right now the Art Musem has a stunning travelling show of Rodin Bronzes which is worth at least a couple of hours.
HUGE UPSIDE: A country in which tipping is unfashionable -- even officially discouraged. What a pleasure!

Singapore is good for a 2 days trip, shops to expensive for european standards.

Singapore is one of the great cities of the world. It's clean and safe. The ethnic mix makes for some interesting conversations. I love Singapore taxi drivers - they seem to always have something to say about the state of the world. The shopping for electronics is excellent although not as inexpensive as it was 15 years ago. This is a wonderful city to walk around in. Lots of small eating establishments to stop and have something to eat and drink while you are walking your way through the city.

Stayed at  Swissotel The Stamford - Singapore, Singapore.
Singapore has always been my absolute favorite destination in all of Asia. The shopping, the food, the nightlife, and without a doubt the largest population of the most beautiful women in the world.

We spend 5 days in Singapore and loved it. We've spend a lot of time shopping and wandering trough Little India and Chinatown. In Chinatown we went to the Tea Chapter to enjoy a nice (quite expensive) traditional Chinese tea. We've been to the Night Safari, which is well worth a visit! It's easy to travel in Singapore, we've seen al lot by foot and for further distances we used the MRT. Singapore is clean and well organised.

Location is great for my purpose of visit, ie shopping. You can shop till you drop and walk over the streets back to your room to have a small rest and check your shoppings. There is a big supermarket just next to the hotel at Paragon that you don't have to carry the heavy items like drinks for a long way before you reach your hotel. Especially during peak hours which is when everybody goes out, it is hard to get taxi to other places from Orchard road. The value for money is worth than wasting your time queing for taxi.

We had less than 24 hours in Singapore so sadly did not do any tours but will definitely return next year for a holiday. Was pleased to find we were there when the sales were on and managed to do some shopping.

The hotel locations is located in the heart of the Orchard Rd Shopping area so I walked everywhere. I do recommend the Night Safari.
