We didn't spend a lot of time in Singapore, but we did go shopping at the People's Center and found some good bargains there and in the surrounding area. The food court was also very good.

Chinatown good for shopping. Getting around Singapore however seemed very spread out. Would need more than one day and would like information on how best a family of 5 could attack some of the highlights that the city offers.

Our timing was immaculate, with the build up to Chinese New Year and the remarkable, eye opening Thai Pusam festival taking place during our stay. Recommended restaurant - the Banana Leaf Apolo in Little India was very good - great food served in a traditional way. Recommended first purchase - an umbrella.

The city of Singapore is an excellent place to start or end your holiday. Great shopping facilities, good food, some culture and good nightlife. Places to go: Jumbo seafood, Newton square, Bricx.

Try the new Chinatown Heritage Centre in Pagoda Street - a fascinating insight into the past. Don't miss eating at the hawker stalls in nearby Smith Street....or at the wonderful Lau Pa Sat market.

Singapore is always good for a night or more stopover. The zoo is excellent as is of course the shopping.

I took a taxi cab to the hotel. It costs about $15 Singapore dollar and takes 20 minutes from the aiport. The hotel is very close to major shopping malls and public transportation.
Very happy with the location.

Staff were very helpful with advise when needed. One in particular gave us good information on where to buy cheapest electrical goods rather than buying them from the local shopping malls.

We went shopping in the adjoining Shopping Centre which was rather down market but linked into Suntec Shopping Centre without us having to get wet.
Taxi transfers to and from the airport were fairly inexpensive.
