Helsinki is a great one day visit. There are three very interesting churches and a nice market at the harbor. Shopping for designer goods can be expensive but very nice things are available. We walked everywhere except for the first trip by taxi from the ferry to the hotel. This could have been walked if we had less baggage. We took a 3 euro bus to the airport for departure. Our only regret was not taking a day trip or more to Estonia (Tallinn) as that seemed to be cheap and easy to do.

We only had a short time in Helsinki, we ignored all the island fortress and headed to the outdoor ice skating rink. Great day out although when the wind gets up can be a bit chilly. Made a thoroughly good Valetines day.

Helsinki was a lively city. Took a boat trip which was infomative and just long enough. Church in the rock impressive and architecture really interesting.

Helsinki is a lovely city and the people were very helpful. I inquired about internet cafe and was directed to three places. The last one is at a public library, which provides free service to anyone who can identify himself. I made my day. I must thank the people of Finland for letting me use the service.

The hotel was used as a stop-over on the way to Joensuu, so not a lot of time taken in Helsinki.

A very nice city! A lot to see. Very good walking and jogging areas along the water edge all the way to Silja Line terminal.Made a sightseeing tour with guide as a start. Very good. Nice museums, good resturants. Can recommend a newly opened Greek one called Knossos. Situated in the market hall in Lönnroth street. Don't miss the Rock Church. Very special.
