I went to Konstanz to Garmish by car. However, road signs were not very good and
I was lost several times. Since Garmish is surrounded by mountains, it is a trouble if you miss the road. Study maps and watch road signs very carefully.

Garmisch is a ski resort. In the summer, it is quiet and uncrowded. We had a most relaxing and comfortable time. I highly recommend taking the special train to Zugspitze, the highest point in Germany at 2963 meters in elevation. The view along the way was spectacular. Do spend an hour or two at Eibsee, a lakeside resort, for tea or coffee on the way down.
